Gripen C is missing a lot. There are bug reports from its release that are easy to action, have been actioned for a tonne of other platforms, but get ignored here.
You know they don’t really give a damn about the Swedish tree given we didn’t get a comparable gripen to the other Eurodeltas (even NG would have been a nice improvement), and they decided that instead of any of the myriad air defense systems that could have added this update, we got the elde.
Got too nice stuff. Generally gets used at least adequately. So if we got nice things, the playerbase would be spitting.

Which version, and can you please source that assertion?

Literally 4 other options would’ve been better than the Elde, the Elde was going to be DOA as soon as gaijin decided anything better than the Ito could be added. I literally show off the available multitude of SPAA the nordic tree couldve gotten on the swedish forum just go look there.
MS19 Gripens have mounted the MAW pod on their pylons but the system should be compatible with MS17 iirc, if you want a list i and other have talked plenty on this forum as to what abomination gaijin has made with the current Gripens, nothing about them is accurate as they all are so poorly added and just inaccurate as can be.

Ah right, I sometimes forget that systems from other nations could also be added. I think I prefer a Swedish system though, even it’s a bit less powerful than NASAMS, say.
Overall, EldE 98 isn’t that bad. I’ve been playing both it and SLM, and while you can’t whack A-10s out of the sky at 25 km, being small and a single vehicle does have benefits on many maps. On some maps SLM is just dead in the water, because there will be a Click bait poking its fucking plastic chair over the hill in front of your spawn at minute 3 in the match.
Besides power level at top tier, EldE 98 is a really good addition to the tree. The missile is co-designed by Sweden with a Saab radar and mounted on the most swedish of all platforms.
Its benefits are outweighed by its huge list of cons and the fact that i hit a slight bump and the entire trailer goes and tips over. Yes very good mhm. Also Sweden could’ve just gotten the RBS 23. Or the SLAMRAAM or the HML NASAM. At least with SLAMRAAM wed have a usable spaa and not some worthless side grade to the Ito. Im sorry but ive been nuking Elde’s with CAS because they lack the missiles and the range to stop me. Seriously 8 missiles with a 20 sec reload is hilarious after the first 4, not to mention the IRIS-T seems to be far less capable at hitting my phantom at 4km than the SLM. Though im normally flying the Su-24 because i think its cooler than the Su-34.

I once again think most of the EldE 98s issues could be fixed with more missiles in its ammo box and making the reload 1-5 seconds instead of the hilarious 15 seconds of defenselessness, the top speed should also be buffed as it’s legitimately just an IRIS-T that can be taken from a Gripen and updated with the ground launch data, there is no reason it shouldn’t be mach 3 capable.
