Also to my knowledge they shouldn’t all fire at once but i may be wrong, its been a while since i read the swedish gripens pdf
Yeah that was another change gunjob challenged. In essence their only interest was stopping people from using periodic release to make themselves immune to IR missiles. So now you need 4x the CMs to defeat any missiles, you cant pre-flare using BOL and everytime you hit the button you dump loads of CMs
Ah yes but leave all the other bol users untouched, id be fine if they were consistent with these nerfs, also the countmeasure pods should be able to be mounted with skyflashes as the swedish ones were.(not that anybody uses them)
All BOL got nerfed. Which is what sucks the most about it. F3 and Gr7 are kinda suffering at the moment with such weakened CMs. In nerfing the Gripen, they did MASSIVE collateral damage

Tornado F3 is the most effected vehicle by this nerf, it needs all the helps it can get against multiple players.

Regardless, ahistorical nerfs shouldnt be taken to the gripens level cause ill just keep absusing the f14B which why hasnt it gone up? I can literally keep up with a mig 29 (which isnt very impressive) in a turn and i carry a lot more scary weapons. 12.3 at the minimum pls.
Mentioning the f14 cause idk why but i seem to have a much easier time losing ir missile lock on me in that then the gripen. Idk maybe just luck.
Besides im assuming this bol nerf will stay going into the future for newer vehicles that also run bol? I guess when we see nore nations get vehicles with bol maybe they’ll change it idk.
Yet it outaccelerates,outclimbs and outspeeds the F-14, just because you can keep up in rate fight (which F-14B’s stronger point) doesnt mean its a better plane when it comes to flight performance.
R27ER alone itself is enough to make Tomcat missiles useless.
Aim-9L’s are better then R-60M’s but R27ER beats both Phoenix and Sparrows easily.
Probably, but what they need to do is totally overhaul how BOL is modeled because its not actually flares
But i can fire four aim 54’s then keep two IR’s and two sparrows. No point in having a different loadout more often then not.

Which means 50 percent of your missiles will be useless against any semi decent Mig-29 pilot.
Even after the buff Phoenix missiles are only useful against unawared pilots.
Not to mention Sparrows are basically useless against R27ER’s therefore your only option becomes using your rate fight abilities and Aim-9L’s.
Dont get me wrong i love F-14B and i still think its a better plane for Air Rb due to armament it can carry alongside with countermeasures and improved flight performance but i dont think it can win against Mig-29 in 1vs1 scenario except where it becomes sustained dogfight.
Thankfully there is a plethora of prem 11.3 players that dont understand the game that get hit by my Phoenix’s lol
Thats why i always carry 2 Phoenix missiles, never know when you actually get one of them lol.
Think we’ll ever get the gripen D? Not really a point outside of looks.
