I mean this probably is a lot of faffing about as they gonna have to make each pylon a slot. But its nice someone did take time.
I assume its just software based, since there is no instant steering like electronically scanned array
Is it really? That’s a pretty substandard fix in the face of the host of other deficiencies (e.g. a maws that’s still as bad as f111, if not worse), unless they’re giving us access to the 3 pylons for customisation. Which I highly doubt they will open up those pylons.
i’m really hoping that’ll be the case, as the list of possible ‘simple’ weapon load permutations would already be astronomical (e.g.: single pylon (centerline station 5), and double pylon (pylon 5l and 5r) versions of each weapon)
It would be nice if it was the case, but given the state this thing has been left in, I have my doubts.

Can the E carry the R-Darter? People always hype it as better in close range combat than AMRAAMs and I want to see what the hype is about. Also how many devs need to get put belt to ass about proper flight performance for the E because the drop in performance from the C is just tragic.
Well equipment for the Gripen is supposed to be a stepping stone, Darter would likely need the same changes to be used as any other missiles the Gripens have used.
As for getting it in game, you could make a suggestion but the devs will likely want photos of them mounted on the E. (Yet for some reason the SAAF MS19 is allowed GPS guided bombs it couldn’t use, typical double standards as always in that department.)

While it could probably fit in the physical space it would not function. The belly pylons are not rails like under the wings, but are instead ejecting pylons so the missile is basically dropped before it’s motor fires. Letting it fall between those spice racks would be very dangerous so it wouldn’t be done.
i think i saw a mockup Saab 39 E, with the three PMEL mounted Meteors being mounted on missile-rails, which then mount to the pylon (kinda like it rn is ingame), instead of the more commonly shown eject system

I didn’t know it was L3 that made them but it seems so. If it was a mockup with rails on these then it must’ve either been a limitation on what they had available at the time to put together or just a dumb mistake I think. Pylon 5 uses these ejectors to have the missile properly clear the plane. My guess would be that the mock meteors there were either fuzed with the rail or something like that making it unfeasible or too time consuming to remove them. Idk.
makes sense, i’d doubt such an adapter-mounting approach would be prefered over the direct interfacing. On the note of meteor, i’ve noticed that the centre one of the triplet seems to be somewhat offset forth. this model of gripen shows it especially

Probably for fin clearance for the center missile, as it would potentially collide with the others when ejected from the pylon

Hopefully they add the Gripen F at least as a tech tree. Finish off the SAAB/105 line.
