Those don’t look the same as the fitted unit. I can kinda make out the square lens though

In this video (unfortunately in swedish) they talk about this sensor and how it’s so advanced it can detect launches from the ground and sea as well. 5:09 into the clip - Also at 13:45 they go over that it’s spherical and not only 360.

3:35 they talk about spherical sensor fusion, how it has combined all these MAW, IRIS, the pylons both on the wings and the ruder can look forward and backwards at the same time 8:25 they go over the pylons a bit more.

14:25 HUD + monitors inside the gripen E cockpit (the real deal simulator from one of Max previous videos)

15:09 talking about how Gripen E have 30% more payload and 30% more fuel than the C but also 30% more powerful engine. (The GE 414 engine

The indents on the close-up, to me, they resemble the shape of the sensors bare.

Wondering if SAAB has their own derivative of PAWS-2, or a modification.

Elbit’s official page showcases a different sensor design.

That’s my thinking, if you look into the PAWS-2 sensor the apertures have those same rounded corners and that red outlining.

And if this reporting to be believed it does appear to be a Elbit PAWS-2 and if it is thats a very capable MAW.

The system’s high angular accuracy and missile time-to-Impact (TTI) measurement optimize countermeasure effectiveness.

Would give it TTI like the Praetorian MAW.

Is the 39E underperforming at all in terms of performance? Can’t say it feels great to play, at least compared to the C and A

that is what happens if you have a heavier aircraft with a worse TWR

What about the missing surface area on the wings? Wish it was that model

iirc is like 200kg to light rn

Oh that is interesting, not seen that before!

Time to impact would be really nice, but one thing at a time, the current suite can’t even properly sensor-fuse (or if it does, the cm-release program is only able to fire flares)

Well, it is heavier with all the upgrades and as much as it’s annoying with the worse FM, it does make sense. Plus it’s the legacy wing we have and not the current production model we have.

That can’t be right. How did you come to that conclusion?

I think he thinks that the thrust is lower because of the added weight
Though it is true that despite the increase thrust the sustain turn rate is worse by 2°

Mmm my curiosity is the wingspan of the E.

SAAB’s website states it’s 8.6 meters but that’s overall width that they mention.

WT’s current wiki has the Gripen E’s wingspan at 8.4 meters.

Yeah i feel like we are gonna have to grind another gripen for the bigger wing

Can you bump the reports indicating that it should be behaving the same as other modern aircraft regarding chaff/flare discrimination to the inbound threat? Currently, the maws acts like F111.
