So what? We’re the only nation left needing to grind yet another 400k rp to get missiles as the only modification difference?
No, best way about it is to change this one to the actual in service model and use the current model as the new Gripen to add a new 14.3 which acts like the one we’ve all grinded, that way we aren’t screwed over stock grinding while everyone else is using Meteor against us on launch day
I think this will sadly be the case no matter how we feel about it. I see their point of there being way to large gaps and BR jumps if those middle steps of very little change between the plane versions weren’t there. I’m personally of the opinion that all vehicles should be as close to their IRL counterparts as possible and BR changes being the primary balancing factor. But i also fully understand that my opinion isn’t a realistic option, it would be next to impossible to (in any reasonable way) balance many planes.
Though they have started foldering more and more at least, that’s honestly the better option imo.
Let’s not kid ourselves it’s been years since they did anything solid with Sweden air especially with foldering vehicles, 90% of the tree needs to be reorganized and foldered.
Gaijin will go out of their way to make our lives hell regardless of what we want.
Then we may also get a premium JAS 39C “late” with IRIS-T and Meteor as well hahaha.
Although imo the current E we have now should have only IRIS-T since I don’t even think we have any old RB74 left anymore and havent for a year or two.
They foldered the JAS39C with the JAS39A just 2 months ago. They only really folder when there are more than 2 vehicles efter one another in the same rank, which Sweden doesn’t have basically anywhere.
But if you want a re-structure you can make a suggestion for that. No real point in discussing this though really.
More likely the JAS39F if that ever happens (which i doubt) :P
Aren’t they still used for practise since they are much cheaper? They might not be, i have no clue, it just sounded logical to keep buying and using older things for live fire exercises.
Right now they are IOC. MS21 is only basic Air to Air. MS22 in a year or two will add certain air to ground munitions and then MS23 in like 2030 or so will be FOC
I’ll see if I can find. My brain just snaps upp stuff that I read. I rarely save sources.
I think some of it was from the long “Försvarsmaktens årsredovisning 2024” that now seems to have been taken down. I’ve not been able to find that one anymore for a long while.
