SAAB JAS 39E/F Gripen - General discussion

I made a mistake. The T-72 is a tank.:)

It’s frustrating that all I can do is hope this statement doesn’t apply to the E-Gripen.

Russian bias, they’ll make it happen

It'll just do this:

Pretty sure 6002 is kept by SAAB, not FMV. It is as you said a production model but part of the few planes that doesn’t make it to customers but are built and kept to evaluate production. So production-spec-pre-production.

It does. JAS 39E in it’s current form is in Sweden MS21. MS22 comes in a year or two and then MS23 in around 2030 I assume it’s the FOC version with all payload options integrated like the KEPD 350 and so on. MS21 is purely basic A2A.

“After that 6002 will join the joint verification and validation programme together with the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV for further envelope expansion as well as testing of tactical system and sensors.”

( First Swedish Gripen E is airborne| Stories | Saab )

I think SAAB has the 39-8 , 39-9 and 39-10 planes. the 6001 went to Brazil Source and the 6002 went to FMV (Swedish defence forces material supplier), i think the first planes that actually went in to service were the 609 and 610 Source (which weirdly enough have the serial numbers 396038 Source and 396040 Source respectively)

Is that a AGM 88 to the right of the NG mockup?

It certainly looks like it, but I haven’t seen anything about a purchase, though I suppose it could just be to demonstrate its ability to support all sorts of munitions?

huh?? ‹JAS-39E incorrect mass

Yeah this guy said he couldn’t wait to nerf the Gripen about the weight problem with it a few months back

Better to be accurate and whatnot, but given this nerf can we at least get the rwr/maws fixed

I wonder which brochure was used, i couldn’t find the info during a surface level search.

Edit:

I think i found it, primary source from saab:

( Client Challenge )

Given the track record of resources used to nerf Gripen, I would not put stock in it lol

Shocking, they didn’t pull dubious resources from the aether this time.

Weight values are all over the place, especially given the differences in the Gripen E platforms

i mean what’s frustrating me is, that as far as i remember empty-mass reports have been shot down, because the weight value in-game wasn’t shown anywhere except datamines

Why was this person approved even though they didn’t attach any supporting documents? If they had the documents, they should have attached them…

If it butchers Gripen, it gets through. If it improves gripen, it gets shot down.

Or left to rot.
