Hmmmm, anyone know what the “target AOA” is for the Gripen while landing? Curious if there any numbers mentioned about it.
45° always seems to work for me :) a little hard at times but the crew can fix it in 15 seconds, I’m sure that translates perfectly to real life ;)

What loadouts are people using for NE? I’ve been having mixed success by just using SDBs and brimstones, SPICE bombs seem like they’d be brilliant in theory but in practice their seekers just snap back to boresight half the time for some reason
You can’t fire spices from TGP view?
It works with mavericks, would be weird if it didn’t work with spices…
No, I mean each munition randomly will just change to its seeker looking forwards after dropping. Happens about once every ~30 munitions at my guessing. MITL is also buggy beyond belief on them ime.
Wow crazy. You drop from within the advertised lock range? Maybe they bug out and don’t lock and continue on GNSS (although then you’d use them like SDBs, so I guess they just miss completely)
Honestly any of the SDBs (39/53s, SPICE 250s). SPAAs are pain to deal with sometimes and honestly just better off spamming a couple of the SDBs so the SPAAs have less range/reaction to track all of the bombs.
They’re hard to deal with even with supposedly apt munitions. SDBs and JSOW are legitimately the only things that make them manageable.
Yep. I had one SPICE bomb out of 8 just decide it was going to follow its own path and wander to the rear airbases before getting shot down.
Yeah, lack of anything that can take out convoys is super noticeable for the rest of my team is all. F-15E/F-16 for example can take 6 mavericks and knock out a convoy (or at least the SPAA on one) pretty easily. Different roles, I know, but it’s almost like the Gripen also has a triple rack of potent air to ground missiles that should be fire & forget too… 🤔
With Spices you gotta make sure you tilt down slightly otherwise what your TGP sees will be out of seeker FOV. Additionally you should release between 40000-50000ft as passing afterburners, missiles, flares etc can drag your bombs off course.

I wasn’t using the TGP, I was using the seeker view thingy
Do you use MITL? I feel it’s so buggy and not worth using as all it does is mess up my track. But other than that and the IR relock possibilities I have pretty high success with spices. On a successful sortie I can get around 13 kills which is nice.
