It doesn’t cause i played it during 11.7 and mine has similiar stats to you which shows this vehicle didn’t get affected by br placement that much. (tech. speaking yours still better).
Folks keep showing this 1 clip and I’ve done it like… one time. Seems less common than you’re trying to imply.
Not to mention that one clip shows it takes several critical seconds to machine-gun a vehicle to kill it. Of which the one being shot at is clueless. The number of times this will reliably happen in a battle is low. Besides, in most cases you attempt this, it’ll just turn its turret the moment it’s damaged and shoot back.
based on testing me and @YEARoftheABRAMS did
M829A3 APFSDS vs BMPT missiles
13 killed
6 critically disabled (guns/missiles gone, 2 crew lost)
3 disabled (guns/missiles gone)
10 blew out all missiles
John Moses Browning vs BMPT Missiles
10 killed
1 critically disabled (guns/missiles gone, 2 crew lost)
2 blew out all missiles
We’ll have to do much more to get a conclusive number, but with the looming chance of it getting fixed it may not be worth it.
even if they turn towards you if you’re shooting them with an mg and only showing said mg, there’s not much they can really do besides maybe move around and try to keep you from hitting it, which’ll be fairly challenging if you’re up close.
I’ve killed about 5-6 with this recently if my memory serves me, and they weren’t all looking away
Thats just proves that most BMPT players aren’t aware about this bug.
Yesterday i played with my BMPT and my enemy Abrams didn’t have a chance to machine gun my missiles while i was rushing to them.
Intended feature
I prefer to call it bug because this is not something should happen from the beginning, cooking those missiles should not harm the crew from the beginning.
It’s a video game so it’s perfectly sensible
even if they are aware what are they going to do about it? waste the 4 things on their tank that actually reliably kill people at the start of the match? use their -4 reverse to back away from the hill as i MG their missile?
even IF they know about the intended feature, it doesn’t save them
why would you try to reverse back to cover when you’re so close to that enemy, what kind of stupid tactic is that?
In that situation you can just focus on disabling his mg and barrel before killing him, did the same thing to enemy SEPV3 yesterday, he was cocky like you guys and ended up paying the price.
uhhhhh so he either yolo’s and shows his vertical drive, ammo belt, and/or lowerplate depending on the situation
or just blows up to aforementioned missiles because they take like 3s of sustained fire tops to blow up
![]()
also kind of depends on proximity and situation surrounding it, for instance if he’d have to yolo through teammates, is already mobility disabled but hulldown to my pov, or other factors.
he was actually in hulldown position, poked about 2 seconds and lost his barell thx to my high rof, then i just tracked him and finished him off in couple seconds.
btw this so called accuracy nerf? i tested on last night and recorded it, turns out BMPT is stilll quite effective sniping turret ring and barell even in range, you just need to be more careful when aiming.
he was completely fine until i charged him lol.
I feal you brother it is very, vry rough out there. Especially the higher brs, the 72s are slower than a lady bug, and are always out of position in comparison to other tanks. T 80b is ok so is the bvm, yes the T80s in general especially in downtiers are good but once the strvs and the new abrams roll around its rough. AT the 8.3 to 10.7 it is a better not touch rank for soviets unless you have the IS-7 and the Object 279. The T-10m dose ok at times and the 4 second reload light tank, boject 906 I believe, the rest are just cannon fodder. The Terminator has a bug seriously its apds mini rounds will never explode like the 3OF26 and above high fragmentation rounds, yes you should be set on fire but that is the Terminators strength, there are no rounds to cause one shot one hit explosions yet that is not taken into account.
While I understand that the T-90M isn’t particularly meta and the BVM is somewhat showing its age, minor nations need armor buffs and new additions much more than Russia. Tanks like the Merkava Mk.4 have had an accepted underperforming armor bug report sitting to rot for almost 6 years now.
Well the 3bm60 pens those tanks but in so many cases only one or two crew members get removed and those tanks fire back and one shot frag you, tell me once you get pened by a sabot round in the crew compartment with all the smoke and fragmentation flying around are you going to fire back in an instant?
Most of the tanks you are showing reach firing spots on the map at least 3 seconds faster than any 72 or 90 version tank. Most of the time they are in position to fire and get a lower galcias shot and get the 72 or 80 tanks without a problem. Lower galcias of Tseries tanks is also a weak spot if not bigger than the tanks shown above. It gets an instant explosion which should not be the case all the time. Not all types of ammo explode like high fragmentation rounds. Armor is the least of the preferred atributes in war thunder.
Did we forget about turret rings and batteries? Furthermore, I own all of top-tier Russia (aside from jets) and can confidently say it’s significantly easier. I’d rather have volumetrically unstable dart-eating ERA from most angles than play a tank that can “survive” based on crew space alone, only to die 5 to 6 seconds later from an additional dart.
The T-80BVM is among the most mobile top-tier tanks and easily outmaneuvers most of these vehicles. You would know that if you had more than 2000 games in War Thunder, but you’re here arguing with someone who has 10 times your matches and is top tier in pretty much every nation barring Italy, China, and Sweden. I’m not trying to be rude here, but where’s your experience to talk on this matter?
Which of these do you think takes more time to aim at and think about shooting?
The Russian T-series has the smallest lower plates in-game. What are you talking about?

It doesn’t, and I have experience playing and killing them. A fuel explosion is significantly more likely in the Leclerc, which lacks the magic ERA protection that autobounces darts at flat angles.

Tell that to win rates.
Budy you are showing me the Merkava tank I am not in disagreament there, it has a far bigger weak spot than the BVM but that is like one out of many tanks. However, Merkava has much better survivability than the BVM. Merkava frontal plate armor values are higher in IRL in most places than in game against SABOT rounds. Yet it has a much better reload rate a key factor in game and it is very mobile and versetile. You can play 4 Merkava tanks.
The 80s are the only mobile top tier Soviet tanks that are viable. With all the factors involved it is easier to one shoot soviet tank than most NATO tanks, which can turn their turret and fire back in most cases after being penned.
Yes armor is for sure the least desirable quality especially in top tier with such easy one hit mechanics available.
What does team skill have to do with your previous discussion? Besides refuting it of course…
There is no such thing as ERA that auto bounces MBT rounds at flat angles…
Front on with no angle?
T-series, LFP into ammo.
Merkava… driver? It’s been over 2 years since I’ve seen a Merkava straight on, don’t remember how to shoot them when they’re like that.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a T-series tank coming down a road as well, but it did cook off as they do.
Type 10, Abrams, Leclerc, Leopard 2s, ZTZ-99A, etc are more mobile than T-80BVM, and that’s with all MBTs over-performing compared to IRL.
One thing I hate about merks is the lower part of turret cheek is made of jellos lol loke it cannot even stop stock rounds like 3bm42/m829, and the area is literally the entire turret ring™️ of Abrams except it’s a lot worse because it’s twice as big and have very little chance of autobounce like Abrams. Is that part modelled correctly? At this point the turret protection of Challenger is light years ahead in comparison.
