Yeah the tendency is there but it took forever when instead of incremental br changes they could have just changed the ammo to be realistic and see from there.The problems with that are not going to go away just because its 11.7 now.
No the realistic is that it should behave like all vehicles with similar ammo layouts in the game until proven otherwise.
Its not, thats the entire argument. Look at all other vehicles with unmanned turrets. They all hard separate ammo and crew trading magazine size for survivability. The BMPT doesnt but Gaijin decided that it doesnt matter making a trade off into a pure advantage.
Not in the BR it was added thats true and thats also why it was moved 10 days after release.
Sure would be nice if anyone besides russia could benefit from those gameplay reasons for once
I think the M1 and Leo 2K releases remain the closest to the BMPT situation at top tier.
Both these tanks were stupidly overpowered capabilities wise but also had some bugs/questionable modeling decisions on release to boost them even more.
For the Leo 2K that was the black hole mantlet and for the M1 that was the bluetooth blowout panels, since (iirc) for a certain amount of time the 3 tound hull ammo rack in the M1 (straight in between the turret crew) had blowout panels (I can’t remember how long it lasted, since both released about 9 years ago).
Closest maybe but i still think that those 2 were not intentional by Gaijin while the ammo situation with the BMPT very much is considering that Gaijin actively changed the ammo on 30th december to the current behaviour.
Bad modeling like armor holes, ERA and volumetric are one thing but deliberately changing stuff like the ammo where there are examples of vehicles in the game alread is another
Plus the bugs from the 2K and M1 were from 9 years ago when the game was using older code. The BMPT has had deliberate decisions made with brand new code.

T-62s aren’t exactly the best tank around, sure, but they are OK imo. I don’t do that worse in them compared to something like a Brenus, which according to the same people, is amazing with a high pen dart, mobility, and thermals.
However it must be mentioned that said ammo rack was rarely filled by soldiers actually using the tank. Have heard from an M1IP gunner that the hull rack was more of a soda storage space rather than ammo storage space. Similarly, the hull racks on 120mm M1 tanks are usually filled with US 1L sized bottles of whatever beverages the crew likes most.
If the M1 was totally accurate on release, that rack wouldn’t even be an option to fill.
I love my brenus, but ill be the first to admit the thing is unplayable on 90% of the maps you see lol. No stab does that to a tank at 8.7 no matter the dart or optics. I would say the sk is just better overall because of its 5 second reload.
Most of the fervent russian mains ive had the displeasure of talking to would whole heartily agree that the chieftain mk3 is a better tank by spades than the t55amd, with a better comparison being against a centurion…
