Wondering why Gaijin has not added the 1941 version of the KV-1 to the Russian Tech Tree.
Lots of T-34s spanning the different years.
But no 1941 KV-1 that has armor up to 90mm.
Could easily slot in at BR 4.0 (like the Churchill III)

Iirc gajin went wild with variants before to hit a world record ( at least in planes, just take a look at the Spitfires and Bf 109s) but I’m guessing that some KV-1 variants slipped through the cracks.
I’m guessing it may be a premium or event, though maybe it can be folderd.
Also do you have a comparison of this and another KV-1 variant perchance, I’m quite interested as I’m not well versed in soviet heavies.
yet we are still missing dozens of variants (admittedly most of them are A,B,C and E wing types) which i would love to see
The version I mention would fall between the 1939 version and the premium tank Gaijin calls the KV-1E that has 100mm armor and a BR rating of 4.3,
Gaijin has kind of made a mish-mash of the variants I’ve seen in other sources, one of which is the KV-1E and another the KV-1B (Germany)
It seems odd that the Russian tech tree has so few KV variants when it has a slew of T-34 variants, and has a gap between the KV-1 (1939) and the KV-1S (which has less armor).
The “missing” tank would have 90mm of armor and the same gun as the KV-1E, giving it a BR of ~ 4.0.
So what basically a kv-1 zis5 but with more armour?
KV-1B/E with less armor, as it would not have the bolted add-on 25mm turret and hull side armor.
Zis 5 has 90mm armor
No - the KV1 zis 5 is a later version that has 100mm hull armor, 90mm on turret all around, a better gun and a significantly higher BR at 4.7.
I’m looking for 1 step up from the basic KV that would have bolt-on armor as mentioned above for a mx of 90mm and the basic gun. Fill the slot in BR 4.0
As an aside - have never understood why the KV-1S is only rank 2, disqualifying it for rank 3 medal tasks. Heck, the m24 in most countries at BR 3.3 /3.7 is rank 3.
Destroyed by the Fins and was planned to be captured. It has plates mounted to the turret from the factory as add on armor.
So that’s… 75mm + 75mm? A JUMBO KV? LOL.
Yes lol
