Russian Teams Steamrolling NATO - Top Tier is Broken Again?

Funnily enough you can literally recreate the way this thread derailed.

  1. Hey top tier is kinda unbalanced, the KH38MT and the MI28NM are broken
  2. yeah and actually one is fake and the other one is good, because of a fake LDIRCM and the most capable AGMs
  3. Bot1: actually the KH38MT is real and MI28NM is balanced and a faithful recreation, youre just bad
    Topic devolves into source slinging

I’m confused actually, because I don’t think he’s rusian, there’s a mistake in his nickname.
Why then?..

Spoiler

I khow the answer and so do you

It keeps getting brought up by people who say it’s fake though.

I don’t know where he’s from, and it doesn’t really matter tbh. I have nothing against Russians, lol. It was more a dig at referring to non Chinese or Russian players as NATO players, it bugs me, lol.

The latter one was just poking fun. (I’m terminally online and the joke may not have landed as intended)

Yeah becaues it is and if it isnt then it shouldnt be on the SU30SM and if it should be then its capabilities are still vastly overperforming.
Read the initial comment of this thread it literally mentions the KH38MT as one reason why the person who made this thread thinks top tier is broken so ofc it will be brought up in that context

If you don’t want peope who claim it’s real to talk about it, maybe stop using every chance to bring it up ?
This has been discussed to death already anyway.

It’s to be expected as well tbh.

It’s the most visible “fake” weapon in the game and annihilated top tier balance for a long time before air defence finally caught up. Given the lack of evidence of it existing at all and gaijins silence on the matter it’s not surprising it keeps getting raised whenever a thread like this happens.

Back in the original kh-38MT threat, I said that gaijin needed to resolve it with an actual statement, ideally providing evidence or it was going to keep haunting them until they do, and now we see that happening.

True it has been discussed to death but bringing it up in a thread why top tier is broken is fine since its a part of the reason. The problem are the “its real” people then spamming the thread with the “sources” weve seen a thousand times. The “its fake” people dont spam off topic sources, because there are none.

Yea, but the it’s fake people keep bringing up the claim of it beeing fake, hence asking for this off topic discussion.
You could just say it’s unbalanced and say what you have to say.

The KH38MT being evidently not par to the standards of the game is pretty important for the discussion tho. Russia being dominant in top tier, because of fake/dubious stuff is the discussion. whats not part of it is the 1000th brochure picture

Okay, but why are you complaining then that people are trying to convince you otherwise ?

The gameplay loop for it is :

Thread gets created.
“It’s not real”

“Yes it is!”

“Show your evidence”

the same mockup pictures are posted

“That’s a mockup”

more pictures

“That’s a mockup as well”

At this point, you get outlandish theories like taking live missiles to trade shows etc. sometimes you get the claim gaijin have special access which is also funny as that would be terrible for gaijin

Then you just repeat the arguments until the thread gets locked. After a while we get a new thread and the same cast reunites for another go (i include myself in this)

There’s this little something called the Key West Agreement of 1948. The US Air Force was given exclusive responsibility for strategic and tactical fixed-wing combat aircraft (fighters, bombers, etc.). The US Army was limited to rotary-wing aircraft (helicopters) and light fixed-wing aircraft for reconnaissance, transport, and liaison, essentially unarmed or support planes.

When the Cheyenne was made, the USAF protested, arguing it blurred the line between helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, violating the spirit (if not the letter) of the Key West Agreement because of how good the Cheyenne was. It also endangered the newly manufactured A-10.

This interservice conflict, combined with intense lobbying from Bell(AH-1 contract at stake) led to the program cancellation in 1972. The Cheyenne had technical and budget issues but pretty much all of them were resolved by 1972 and they were just used as excuses to kill the program.

Like, instead of instantly insulting me or calling me wrong, take the time to read about the Cheyenne like an intelligent adult would. It’s an interesting vehicle and a sad tale of interservice rivalry and congress lobbying.

Here’s a man much more knowledgeable than me explaining it in detail:

Im not its just the reason why these threads derail, because some people see it as their duty to shove the same brochure in your face for the 5000th time and then it always becomes a discussion about quality and integrity of sources and then about integrity of countries and so forth.
Weve all seen the “sources” theres no need to post them again.

Then stop bringing it up, jesus.

How? The KH38MT is part of the problem mentioned in this thread.

Yes, and how does discussing it beeing fake or real help the case ?
Not even the post creator talked about in the initial post.
It’s in the game and it wont go away.

Just talk about it’s balancing issues then if you don’t want people not beeing your opinion of it beeing fake or not.

Because it goes to the heart of what the game is supposed to be.

The game is marketed as being realistic:

“The appearance and characteristics of the vehicles in War Thunder are historically accurate, and their damage models are physically based.“

You have countless examples of weapons being denied because of the “rules”.

Then you have the kh-38MT. No evidence it ever actually existed in direct contradiction of the rules gaijin purports to uphold. The weapon dramatically unbalanced top tier for a long time and then players find out it’s fake and overperforming its own marketing brochure to an extent that would make Pravda blush.

Combine that with the frustration based gameplay gaijin employs and It’s not surprising it keeps coming up, and it will continue to do so until the issue is actually addressed.

It’s a double standard people can point to. Refusing to address the issue is on gaijin.
