I don’t see how shooting tanks in the side and not getting any penetration is skill issue?
The round clearly impacts and the round should penetrate but it gets absorbed.

Are you talking about clip 1 or 2?
in clip 1 if you shoot a similar spot on let’s say a Leopard 2 yoiu can also encounter plenty of volumetric shenanigans.
Clip 2 is just a massive skill issue (the leopard I mean of course). The leopard hit and penetrated the side of a T-80U and only managed to yellow the fuel tank and autoloader and make 2 crew members red, do you know how badly you have to aim to achieve that?

He hit between the drive wheels and track. The shell traveled through the entire tank.

Volumetric also affects spalling and damage, you can see that it was caused by this because of the wanky reaction of the apfsds after it hit the track, you can seen how it yawed.

2,6k replies. Yeah I doubt my comment matters here, but how I feel about it: The tanks are fine. The only annoying thing about russia is how gaijin insists they keep air supremacy. Every round against them it’s just constant kh-38, mi-28 spam. Part of the blame is the terrible respawn & mapping issue which people should be yelling at instead of constantly whining about other nations. Rolling into spawn takes minutes. Spawn protection is a decade old bandaid fix and aircraft can just spam camp the small spawn points on the map.
I think the angle of attack was enough for the ERA to mostly mess up the dart. Though, jank moment. This can happen to any tank you shoot. Unpopular opinion, but I don’t actually mind it as much. Sometimes, like irl, unexpected things happen. You haven’t even seen the worst. I once shot a T-80BVM and a SEP2V side on and their ERA jank made my dart vanish into thin air. I should’ve saved those hits.
That happens with all mbts pretty consistently where random angles non pen. There’s a ton of them on leopards for example

Ask the following question and be sincere with yourselves. “What if i was in an Abrams or Leopard instead, would my horizontal drive survive the shot?”

Hmm. explain my clip then? Abrams eats 152mm dart. Literally went through the driver’s arm, the gunner leg, and the commander foot, then into the engine.
