Doesnt r74m2 have a stronger motor? R73 ingame has pretty poor acceleration but quite good range, aim9x has much less drag sure but its still a 9m motor + there is no difference between dual band and imaging infrared ingame i wager r74m2 will be better than 9x block 2 ingame. Atleast i expect nothing less these days

Ajax is an exageration but the point remains had that been a Leopard or an M1 it would be dead.
The T-90 I would have had to cross no mans land to secure the kill. My issue is how there is no spall generated and no crew killed.
Conversely he shot my breach and killed 2 crew members.

Same thing happened to me yesterday.
I was playing my T-90M and killed an adats and turned around the corner only to find enemy VT5 waiting for me, I was reloading so I thought might as well just die but turns out his shot didn’t caused any damage to my breach and I simply one shotted him.
Poor guy must be pretty pissed, cant blame him tho.

The R-74M2 looks exactly the same. I’m 95% sure the only major change is the seeker, and even that’s actually pretty bad, it doesn’t have lock-on after launch, and the R-74M just has better IRCCM, it doesn’t even have IIR. But the gaijin can always build a missile artificially
The AIM-9X’s rival has yet to be developed it is the Izdeliye 300
afaik it has 2 way datalink. and IIR isnt modelled ingame
I know it isn’t modelled, but even in the future, Russia doesn’t have missiles with IIR or LOAL, and in fact they’re likely to be inferior in terms of performance because the R-74M2 is heavier than the R-74M and the R-73 due to its improved seeker

That’s all theory, in practice, the public fact is that it can’t lock after launch
in practice the r74m2 is not even getting used, on paper there is no reason it couldnt have LOAL
The thing is, there are no documents to prove that he has LOAL.

It does have loal
±180 degree target acquisition if target designation is used from third party/carrier aircraft sensors.
±60 degree target acquisition if just using hmd
