I think the ammo bug tends to effect certain APFSDS rounds more than others. For me M900 has been doing horribly with generated spall and post-pen damage, but M829A1 and M774 are perfectly fine. Maybe it’s old code or something.

628mm shell will not keep its peak penetration power when it penetrates the armor and shell will certainly split across turret in order to maximize the damage.

And? Your bustle can effectively catch the shrapnel and prevent your ammo to cook off.
There is no hard statement that says every single penetration through turret will result the igniting turret bustle that contains ammunition.
This is warthunder. More penetration = more spalling, weight or calibre beyond 76mm not mattering makes the damage very simple. He should be dead no matter what.

Wouldn’t really change anything most of the times. Besides, barrel elevation isn’t modelled for most tanks anyway.
We can talk about barrel elevation when russian tanks get proper spalling caroussels and actual turret baskets, half of LMURs on MI28 are removed, 95Ya6m’s drag is increased and its damage reduced, BMPT belt is connected, KH38MT is properly removed, and LDIRCM is fixed

I didn’t say that it needs to be modeled. I literally said the same thing as you, that it’s useless.
I was probably responding to the claim that the game doesn’t take into account the time it takes to raise and lower the barrel during reloading.

We already have it modelled. Just like in real life column of 32 ru trashcans are moving to engage 8 NATO tanks. ~10 break down half way, 12~ get droned/artyd, 2-4 get captured. All of it happens behind the loading screen, that’s why you’re unable to see that, but it is what it is.
Keep in mind they will also be inferior in terms of CAS support because no fictional KH-38MT, very limited amount of TGP (in fact most of them will not have luxury to access it), LMUR’s will not be F&F while NATO unleashes multiple F&F munitions including AGM-144L’s and Brimstone MMW.
I would like to see how long he can endure that.
