It’s because Gaijin’s volumetric implementation was lazy as hell and they didn’t map it out properly to factor in things like cannon barrels. Even a 5mm piece of structural steel when hit at a flat angle can still produce a ton of LOS protection it realistically cannot do.
How about this one? I’m spamming the visual lock so I can use my HE rounds. OFC it doesn’t work. I’m really getting sick and tired of this game

Not hugely, but for normal air RB yeah.
High missile+cm count, I’d argue better radar for worse HOBS missiles.
GNSS is pretty strong though when coupled with AESA datalink.
Last time I checked the stats the 15C GE was doing incredibly well compared to the Su-30SM

Ignore zanna, players with certain skills lacking think that whatever they’ve been fed is correct.
However if you look at players with skill, and with the slow changes to missiles and other things the F-15C Ge has received overtime, especially with 120Ds and Missile kill missile meta, the F-15C Ge is definitely a competitor to the su30sm if not better than it since the aesa radar and countermeasures and the gnss for 120Ds is quite the advantage of the su30sm which is a heavy weight pesa radar based jet with the R-77-1’s only advantage being 50Gs or great pull.
even competitive players are using more of F-15 and none are touching the su30sm.
But you know we have funny people who think its otherwise

I wanted to try TSS eventually but the new lineups just ruined it for me thanks to missile spam + mcm
PESA and AESA are a non argument in game as of right now. They act the same when it comes to core elements that should differentiate them.
Every PESA radar has terrible vertical scan
That’s a big difference even if it isn’t the main difference that they should have if modelled realistically
Its more about the fact that scanning targets outside of where the radar is pointed is not possible with the su30sm and has bad vertical scan. Which is very important in air rb with 16v16 and TSS or any tournament.
F-15C Ge does not have these issues and the radar is excellent.
