Russian Bias in 2025?

Now I KNOW you’re trolling. I’ve on many occasions had T80s run right up to me without any track or engine noise. The M1 series is arguably louder than any other tank in the game. Just idling can be heard from a couple hundred meters out.

its now less loud than before but they should lower the noise by 10db because compare to other tank side by side the abrams engine is louder but it should have somewhat similar noise level

gaijin faults, we suffer, duh

You experiencing audio bugs is not what your earlier post claimed.
Your post moved the goalposts.

No, you misunderstand. The engine is that quiet in the game. There’s nothing resembling a turbine engine sound on T-tanks that have turbine engines. There’s no whistle, nothing high pitched at all. Just a low muffled grunt of an engine that you can’t hear until it is already upon you.

Line them both up and tell me anything remotely similar with not only the volume, but the sound at all.

T-80s have a whistle. Always have.

You might hear it if you’re operating it, but I never hear it when I’m fighting one.

it does but infact the T-80s whistle should be louder than that of an Abrams

If you didn’t notice the spotting system was bugged until a few patches ago so tanks close to you just didn’t make any sounds even tho they should

I did notice that, but that had to do with all vehicles, not specific ones. I’m glad that has been resolved. The other thing about the M1 series engine noise, is that it is always loud regardless of how it is facing you. The M1 powerpack is a pretty quiet system that directs most of the noise directly out the back of the tank. When I was in the USMC as a M1A1 mechanic, I had one creep up on me in a gravel lot. It was being ground guided straight towards me from behind, and all I heard was the gravel crunching under the track pads. From that point, I realized just how quiet that huge tank actually was, and it was designed to be that way.

Exactly why it was nicknamed “Whispering Death”. But, if it drove by, you would definitely hear that turbine once it’s exhaust was visible. It was also pretty quiet from the driver’s seat. We had a hard time staying awake while troubleshooting faults from the driver’s seat while the engine was running. If there are any M1 tankers on here, they know what I mean.

The fact that Gaijin refuses to recognize how quiet the M1 series tank is (a simple google search results in many articles about how quiet it is), yet chooses to make it extremely loud should tell you that their focus is not on " Historically accurate battles "

Is Audacity lying?

The bottom [T-80] audio sample is clearly louder.

How was this data obtained, while driving it or while it was approaching you? Makes a huge difference.

The M1 series engine noise most definitely carries further than the T80.

My driving the tanks themselves with other sounds off.

Any other form requires a second person and 30 minutes of their time.
I have good hearing though, and I don’t know your level of hearing and I’m not about to speculate.

just leave him be, what you say is true hes just like this most of the time
