Most of it is stemming from the yak9k having an APHE round it never used. And the kh38 on the same side as the S1. That is really the most egregious thing people point to.
On the flip side the f15e has been added too early and they should have just went with the f18s that are overdue.
I just love when US mains start talking about that while forgetting they had probably the only plane at 8.7 with guided ammo (A-4E) that was perfectly paired with the best SPAAG in the game (M247).
Non-US CAS had to do strafing runs with dumb bombs/rockets while dealing with radar AA that has HE-VT with no tracers, making it practically impossible to dodge.
Non-US SPAAs had to deal with a plane that can work outside their effective range, requiring basically one braincell to dodge out of the tracers’ path. That thing was basically un-killable by AAs from other nations.
I won’t even start going into US prop fighters that could carry same amount (or even more) ground ordnance than dedicated Strike Aircraft of other nations, thus transforming into fully fledged CAP after they drop their load.
They forget this since most of them can’t hit the broad side of a barn with MCLOS guidance. A lot of them didn’t even bother to define MCLOS controls and just used bullpups as rockets that flew laser straight. Bullpups have so much punch that they were still effective when the average american was using them wrong.
I can get kills with the nords just fine. But the AMERICAN bias is so strong that I don’t even need to hit the target to get kills with the bullpups. I can straight up get multikills on clustered targets with them. Don’t even need to waste any pylon slots on delta pods like I do when I’m using Kh-23s. Hell, my A-4E gets to carry walleyes too and that just makes everything easier both as a fire and forget bomb and as improved optics.
I was more talking about TV bombs that would easily outrange SPAAs at it’s BR back then. To my knowledge A-4E was the only 8.7 plane that had that kind of ammunition. Pair this with M247 and you’d get Kh-38 + Pantsir combo but at a different BR.
But, since it’s not USSR in question, it’s certainly not bias moment.
You can still snipe SPAAGs from several km away with the MCLOS missiles. The bullpup was just the best at this since american normally carried many of them and their warhead is so large. Most players didn’t master this though and just used them as rockets. Same as with the nords. Most people would fly into point blank range and fire them like rockets. It was probably a single digit percentage of players that legitimate got-good with MCLOS guidance and they were a menace when they appeared. The most powerful culprit was the A-4E with the technique of using the walleye as magnified optics to guide in a bullpup from extreme ranges. Nothing on the ground at that BR could defend against such an attack.
Now that they’ve FINALLY been nerfed in ground RB with the addition of separate BRs for air and ground, the A4 is no longer grossly OP at CAS. It’s merely head and shoulders better than what other nations have at that BR.
