Yep.

not taking damage ye i think ur wrong here mate
“It did not happen if i don’t look that way”
it does not happen if i do not see it mostlikely that guy
I should have also made a test with no ammo in the tank, and see if there is still the explosion effect.
Yes in the second shot in the video the round skims the ammo load but doesn’t detonate it.
That isn’t due to the fire, that’s due to the initial round which hit the engine.
No deaths in the video the user posted showed the ammo taking damage from the engine fire.
Yes if there is a fire from the engine it’s very bad for the tank.
I’m talking about fuel explosions, not fires.
Fuel tanks ingame stop 100% of spalling. Not all fragments are low energy.
The crew died, causing the tank to be destroyed, giving the kill message.
The ammo didn’t detonate from the fire. The ammo didn’t take damage from the fire.
The exact same situation in an Abrams causes your ammo to cook off before your crew dies. This is illogical not only because of the temperatures needed to cook off the ammo not killing the crew beforehand but the completely different design of the tank putting ammo in a separate sealed area away from the engine compartment.
This disparity is why I created this thread. Your video shows that if an untreated fire kills the crew the tank is destroyed, this is a fact acknowledged by everyone here. You have failed to show that engine fires damage ammo carousels which is what I already stated as the ingame behavior. You have not explained how Abrams turret stowed ammo detonates faster than the crew burns to death despite being separated from the fire and being placed in a seal compartment separate from the engine.
Just like i did there.
There would be some left, but not many, and even those would be very low speed when they leave the liquid. But i agree with you here.
1, the tank exploded.
2, it said ammunition exploded.
So what caused the explosion? Accumlated fart gas in the crew?
Open your eyes dude.
So, if i die in a tank form fire, while having no ammo in the tank, will it:
1, display crew knocked out/tank burned down
2, will it explode?
Yes, hence my confusion since the topic of discussion is ammo detonation.
Yes.
The crew dying.
Again, this damage was from the round. It’s your own video you can go and watch it and see the yellow shells immediately after the shot w/ no color change for the duration of the fire.
No idea.
Watch the second video m8!
You are actually right there.
Interesting. So Gaijin does model ammo detonation they just consider the ammo in the carousel more protected than turret stowed ammo on the Abrams. They also fail to show damage to the carousel, so how is the kill time calculated?
This still doesn’t explain how the ammo in the Abrams turret detonates so quickly when it’s in a separate area.
Bug Thunder.
Likely some random % HP damage taken every game tick.
Do you have an unedited video of the Abrams cookoff time?
No. All I know is that engine fire translates to damage to the ammo and it sets off fairly quickly.
