The Merkavas are decent at sniping with their high-gen thermals and LWS. Turret armor is decent.
You’d be surprised how well they can brawl, as shoot too low on the UFP (Happens a lot) and they will only get your mobility. Merkava can also sidescrape the loader side really well, so they can only take your loader or track at most while you can kill them. The Merkavas side armor is also pretty good, with autocannons unable to pen the upper side. If they shoot the lower side, a few rounds will pass through doing nothing because of the empty space.
The shell’s pretty good at 5s, having above 600mm pen which is great. Also, weight on 105-125 modern APFSDS doesn’t matter for spalling, you can watch Zenturion7’s APFSDS mythbusting video.
The armor is trolly - (Protection analysis lies on them, they’re stronger in game). They have pretty good survivability, however they are beaten by Leos (obv).
As for mobility its pretty nice, as they have the best transmission at top tier and a good HP/Ton ratio.
The APS however, is pretty bad. Its bugged.
I’ve played the Merkava 4s for a while and although it’s obvious that it’s not like a Leopard when it comes to gun depression, sniping is possible. When it comes to armor, I feel like it’s more of a ‘psychological’ armor, as people don’t know how to kill one of them as much as other tanks (they don’t face them as often). Pen is good at 600+ and some millimetres more wouldn’t do much (usually). Speed and transmission is something I like, as you can move fast both forwards and backwards. However, i must say that the antennas and high profile do matter sometimes as camping/hiding isn’t as easier as with some other tanks.
And sometimes shots just go though the whole tank without doing nothing to it.
So in my opinion, although they are not the best, they are good. I’ve played with the T-80UD and I hate the mobility.
Gen 2 is a normal thing for top tier
If something its should get gen 3 and lws is nice but not something to go crazy more so on peper tank when u cant turn ur tank quicly to block shots like t90

Not bad but not great just to remind leclerc ,ariete, challys and abrams have 5 sec too so exept the leos its normal relaod rate for nato
Again that was the thing that made them playable before the new mbts
Type 90 have better transmition and yea its nice to reverse fast but its not a game breaker by any mean and u pay for it in top speed
And for hp/ton its average nothing special
It would be worse than the regular 2S25m already in game. Higher profile so its even harder to hide with the same problem being 4 degrees of depression, and slugish instant acceleration for higher top speed so its harder to play around flat cover.
