ROCAF & PLAAF aircraft improvements & general discussion

For the F-16 block 20 it’s because I’m regarding it as fully upgraded. For the others, I’m not too sure on how to balance them, this is mainly to show what planes can come to the Chinese tech tree.

I’ll add and fix the ordering later once I get the chance.

Ok, nobody cares about CAS planes in 8.7-9.7, is there any one remember AT3B/XA-3?

That mean after dev buff upgraded F-16A Block 20 could add AIM-120C-5 & AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM, 2 LANTIRN pods (AN/AAQ-19 Sharpshooter targeting pod & AN/AAQ-20 Pathfinder navigation pod), GBU-10 & GBU-12 Paveway II, AGM-65G-2 Maverick, AGM-84G Harpoon, AN/ALQ-184 ECM pod and AN/VDS-5 LOROP-EO reconnaissance pod ?

And AIDC AT-5 Brave Eagle as a new supersonic jet trainer/Multirole light combat aircraft from ROCAF ?🦅

Yes, the fully buffed F-16A block 20 with all of its modifications.

I’d don’t think the AIDC AT-5 is supersonic, so it could be a good aircraft after the F-5’s with all aspect TC-1’s or AIM-9P4’s.

Personally, I expect at least this year gaijin consider buff F-16A Block 20 add LANTIRN (AN/AAQ-19 Sharpshooter targeting pod & AN/AAQ-20 Pathfinder navigation pod), AGM-65G Maverick, GBU-10 Paveway & GBU-12 Paveway II laser guided bomb, AIM-9P replace by AIM-9P4 and add AIM-9M replace AIM-9L

Of course i remember them, but i don’t think that AT-3/3B with TC-1/AIM-9L can be in 8.7-9.7, there are only Q-5 and JL-8 can be in such br.

There should be one for the Hawk III, V-92, V-11G and V-12D.

Chinese bomb modification.
Japanese type 92 15kg bomb wrapped in a bundle of three. Can be mounted on the P-51 or B-24. Don’t think it’ll be too useful in WT but it’s interesting.

Looks like the ROCAF trained with F1M2’s after the war. They received 8 F1M2’s were stationed in Tamsui and had a Japanese instructor.

Link turned Dutch? Lol

Hmm, According to 國軍現役武器圖鑑 AIM-7M have a 30G maximum load. In game it’s 25G.

This is actually very well done and i even do like the re-balancing of aircraft, there is a couple of things though

Firstly I personally would make the SH-5 a TT aircraft even if it has very limited defensive capabilities and a limited production run and second there is a couple of aircraft that you missed like the Q-5Yi for example

Thanks!

I’ll try and fix it up sometime later.

Actually I took some inspiration from the tech tree you made on WT live with the ROC PRC rework.

Here is another aircraft that can be added, the H-5 Eagle, a modified H-5 used as a testbed for ASM’s and avionics for the JH-7

Ordinance used by the ROCAF 1947

Is the j8’s ripspeed really that dreadful irl? you especially notice it in warthunder because the game forces you into a low altitude due to the lack of radar missiles (j8f). In fact I think its slightly lower than even the mig21’s. How can it be that bad? The j8 also locks up a lot more past mach than mig21’s do which is super annoying

I can’t say definitively but I would not be surprised if the J-8 was not optimized as a low-level tactical dogfighter. Conceptually it’s a Su-15, it’s designed to be good at its niche of interception, not to knife fight F-5s

The J8 series fighter jet is positioned as a high-altitude high-speed interceptor in the PLAAF, mainly used for interception missions

Hello y’all, any new sources on the Q-5A/Ls ordnance that can be bug reported yet?
I find it rather hilarious that they’re missing AAMs, and in the case of the L, flares.
Of course my proposed change would be to put the Q-5A to 9.7, give it PL-2B and move the Q-5L to 10.3 while giving it flares and PL-5.
But that’s just talk if we don’t have any concrete sources coz apparently the devs are way too stubborn on not fixing that stuff.

If you have the information, it’s okay, but I think Q5L is more suitable to stay at 10.0 and cooperate with the land combat team

From J-8B block 02 onwards the airframe was re-enforced to allow for the aircraft to pull higer Gs and carry a greater payload.

J-8B in game which is a block 01 while compared to the J-8F reveals the J-8F can sustain the same G load, has the same 4500kg payload limit and has the same wing rip speed.

The problem with anything beyond the J-6 is official documentation is extremely hard to find on specific variants to get actual numbers so Gaijin just makes nonsense up.
