ROCAF & PLAAF aircraft improvements & general discussion

Thanks!

I’ll try and fix it up sometime later.

Actually I took some inspiration from the tech tree you made on WT live with the ROC PRC rework.

Here is another aircraft that can be added, the H-5 Eagle, a modified H-5 used as a testbed for ASM’s and avionics for the JH-7

Ordinance used by the ROCAF 1947

Is the j8’s ripspeed really that dreadful irl? you especially notice it in warthunder because the game forces you into a low altitude due to the lack of radar missiles (j8f). In fact I think its slightly lower than even the mig21’s. How can it be that bad? The j8 also locks up a lot more past mach than mig21’s do which is super annoying

I can’t say definitively but I would not be surprised if the J-8 was not optimized as a low-level tactical dogfighter. Conceptually it’s a Su-15, it’s designed to be good at its niche of interception, not to knife fight F-5s

The J8 series fighter jet is positioned as a high-altitude high-speed interceptor in the PLAAF, mainly used for interception missions

Hello y’all, any new sources on the Q-5A/Ls ordnance that can be bug reported yet?
I find it rather hilarious that they’re missing AAMs, and in the case of the L, flares.
Of course my proposed change would be to put the Q-5A to 9.7, give it PL-2B and move the Q-5L to 10.3 while giving it flares and PL-5.
But that’s just talk if we don’t have any concrete sources coz apparently the devs are way too stubborn on not fixing that stuff.

If you have the information, it’s okay, but I think Q5L is more suitable to stay at 10.0 and cooperate with the land combat team

From J-8B block 02 onwards the airframe was re-enforced to allow for the aircraft to pull higer Gs and carry a greater payload.

J-8B in game which is a block 01 while compared to the J-8F reveals the J-8F can sustain the same G load, has the same 4500kg payload limit and has the same wing rip speed.

The problem with anything beyond the J-6 is official documentation is extremely hard to find on specific variants to get actual numbers so Gaijin just makes nonsense up.

To the j8 pilots, is it just me or does the j8b turn slightly better? It feel to me like j8b pulls in faster and harder, and generally is more responsive. Its almost like the j8f has some sort of glimiter. According to the warthunder wiki they weigh the same so they should control the same

I also had this issue, the difference in maneuverability was very noticeable. I think the reason is that I unlocked all modifications on J-8B, which increased maneuverability, while J-8F was stock. But the difference is really big, especially in the roll rate.

J8B does feel turn better than J8F.

The J-8F has a maximum overload in the files of 10G, so the J-8B does turn better.

J8F is still 11.7 while ja37d, an arguably better plane thanks to its ability to carry sarh missiles, was moved down to 11.3.

It’s time to equip the J7D with a PL5C like the other MIG 21 value vehicles with omnidirectional missile attack attributes

I will be fine with that if there is a TT J/F7 with all aspect AAM, especially considering there is only 3 J-7 variants total

F-7 PG,J-7G,F-7 BG,F-7BGI would be a nice addition.
Specially F-7BGI can be as a CAS jet in grb.Although it only gets access to LS-6s,TEBER guidance kit Mk. 81/82 and probably FT-2 but I think those are some what enough.

Anyone knows what this “bee bomb” is?
