[RoadMap] Following the Roadmap: Construction of Objects and Trenches for some Vehicles

Lame. No one asked for this.
How about more game modes, better balancing (especially for France!) and historical matchmaking?!

I’m pretty sure its 5mm of RHA for 100mm of Dirt

Interesting

Maybe 10 mm RHA?

Two of these ideas seem to be overlook the opportunity to add support role tanks like ammo schlepers and engineering/recovery tanks (which could also have added/faster repair capabilities)

perhaps these types of tanks could be spawned with no points (so a player could return as one after they are dead)

alternatively. sharing ammo of similar types with teammates could be more realistic - eg. tiger sharing 88mm with another tiger etc.

They probably didn’t think that level of cooperative behavior is likely with most WT players. (and they’d be right).

Is this why you’ve been making the maps so bland and boring, so that players have to do the work? By reducing the size and strategic options in the maps you’ve fostered a culture that encourages people to quit after 1 death and games ending quickly.

Together with the failure to have sufficient in-game explanations of complex functions, most won’t use these construction mechanics just like the dozer blades are neglected.

And it’s almost certain that these new mechanics will have major bugs or flaws that will remain neglected, possibly for years, despite many excellent suggestions from players.

Sorry to sound negative but there’s a solid track record here…

Air to air is more fun in GRB because it’s more challenging due to lack of markers and better ground AA (bc it’s player controlled) it’s a decent middle ground between sim and air rb, and there isn’t much use or reward for CAS jets other than in ground RB

Aren’t those more for assisting repair with tracks than digging out a trench, and if they did get stuck they’d usually just call a recovery vehicle and worst case they try to dig out the tank

Not all trees have engineer vehicles and even then they are premium

this all sounds absolutely horrible …

  1. so after a decade of “work” Gaijin is still completely unable to fill functionality gaps in tech trees … we have nations without SPAA at certain (or all) BR ranges, nations without light tanks (so no scouting, no scout drones, no aircraft spawn discounts through scouting), nations with very underwhelming CAS options … and instead of fixing any of those long standing problems Gaijin just gives up and decides to make it even worse by adding more mechanics gated behind certain vehicle types to make sure that the horrible functionality gaps in tech trees will get even worse. Just look at how many nations do have (and how many don’t have) any vehicle of the type required for new mechanics at high/top tiers.

  2. And saying that the new dynamic objects will have fully-fledged damage model is complete joke, devs weren’t able to do this with static objects on maps. Maps are getting worse and worse with large parts of maps getting gated off because devs don’t want to spend any time fixing maps, on one hand the top half meter of hill edges is often just a mirage that you can shoot through, on the other hand map object hitboxes are a joke with invisible objects/edges eating shells everywhere, destructible environment promissed almost decade ago completely fizzled out because devs are yet again too lazy to finish anything … and now the fact that they can’t be bothered to fix static objects will be made infinitely worse by throwing random dynamic objects on map, with all the problems that will bring (and that they will again ignore forever because they’ll be too busy chasing whatever brand new fever dream they will come up with next). Great idea!

  3. prelude to MASSIVE AMMOUNTS OF CHEATING
we see tens of thousands of players getting banned, tons of players abusing arcade game mechanics like target tracking in realistic battles & Gaijin unable to stop this, recently we got hitcam “nerf” just to make sketchy shots less obvious … and now they want to throw tons of new game mechanics into the game that can mess with enemy detection, visibility, dynamic objects capable of blocking shots, refilling ammo and all sorts of other questionable (and highly abusable) stuff … yes, this will certainly go well, what could possibly go wrong here?

  4. balance

  • so even after several years we still can’t get fix for wheeled vehicles having problems driving on inclines and sliding down slopes and now we’ll see super-mobile vehicles like Type93 or Wiesel/Ozelot or VT1-2 being able to zip around the maps and basically dig random holes at choke points. Really?
  • Striker ATGM that will now be able to refill it’s ammo and belch out 20 missiles (still with old ATGM handling because almost a full year after ATGM changes Gaijin still isn’t able to fix Striker missiles). ATF-09 now with 24 missiles instead of 12? Ontos with 36 instead of 18 rounds? Wiesel 1A2 going from 8 to 16 missiles? How balanced.
  • Falcon that will now be able to refill it’s ammo and will effectively have 1200 rounds if it takes a moment to replenish from crate. Great, I’m sure players on the receiving end of the 30mm autocannons of death will love this.
  • Raketenautomat will now be able to double it’s ammo … but not U-SH405 with the same weapon system because that one is light tank. That makes sense (to someone in dev team).
  • VT1-2 will now be able zip around the map, empty the 105mm autoloaded guns, scoot to cover and replenish … yeah, that’ll be popular.
  • Bandkanon 1C will go from 14 shells to 28 shells, that’ll be totaly balanced for vehicle with 3sec autoloader.
  • Top tier SAM systems will now have double ammount of ammo, meanwhile nations without any top tier SAM like Italy or Israel will get double ammount of “Gaijin_doesn’t_give_a_####” … certainly can’t get more balanced than that.
  • those super mobile (and annoying) SPAA like ZA-35 or ItPsV now with double ammo and able to refill APFSDS belt? Tank-killer SPAA like L-62 with double ammo? WZ-305 now with pretty much infinite number of proxy rounds?
  • TD/SPAA/ATGM vehicles being able to refill ammo anywhere at any time with no downside whatsoever, meanwhile light/medium/heavy tanks have to worry about not taking 1 extra round of ammo that’d activate one more ammo storage rack and turn entire vehicle into huge self-destruct button. Oh my god, such flawless masterpiece of balance!

come on, it’s the same thing as the recent poll about crew healing and internal modules … we’re yet again being asked to vote based on not much information and completely bogus 20sec video described how mechanic “might” look like … no details, but we must make decision right now. Sounds pretty rigged.

And you really should sort out WT’s cheating problem before adding mechanics with such high potential for abuse.

New mechanics are good, but, apparently, they will become as popular as self-digging - the match takes about 10-15 minutes on average, there will be no point in doing this banally

Why are these mechanics never broken up for the gamemodes?

Hell even in the poll you cannot seperate per mode.

This is amateurish polling. It’s just incompetence at this point. The idea that every mechanic works for all gamemodes.

The mechanic is fine for AB and RB, sure. But it has no place in a sim mode.

Can o answer that in the poll? No… Becauce there is just a simple yes/no option.

Don’t dimb down sim, elevate it!

So first we are forced to play ever shrinking maps “to discourage camping” then you come up with this nonsense? how about just adding stuff like this randomly to maps? this game gets more lame by the update.

How about a poll regarding increased map sizes? I came to this game for a slice of realism and you are turning it in to fortnite, no wonder the amount of battles are shrinking every month.

balance top tier gaijin

Increasing map sizes just for the sake of having larger maps is a terrible idea. What Gaijin needs a proper area to give detailed feedback on what is good, and what isn’t good with maps.

For example, saying that many maps in WT have badly placed cap points because they can only be attacked from 1-2 angles is decent feedback, but saying “map smaller=bad” is bad feedback.

i will say add spawn area instead of fix spawn points may be a fix, since most of them are saying being spawn camp but if player can choose a place to spawn from a wider area may help to fix it

As I said in the comments section of the news post.

Ammo boxes - okay addition.

Camo nets - I think they need to be seen before a final verdict. Also SPAA nets should have a bigger effect against CAS then ground targets. This would force aircraft lower and into gun range.

Terrain deformation - Not sure I approve. I know not a lot of people use the bulldozer attachment. The whole process just takes too long in what are relatively quick matches.

Not every change or Addition is a good one

One important suggestion:
Excavating vehicles increases damage to vegetation. Whether using crews or a bulldozer.
