Rheinmetall 130 mm Demonstrator - Future Tanknology

because it wasn’t built for Germany, also it was built by a German/British Consortium and was built for Britain.

I am not going to reply any more in this thread as ive made my opinion clear, if you want to keep this going then DM me instead

Just to calrify.
This tank

Is Challenger 2 62 KK 79, one of 4 Challenger 2 dispatched to RBSL for 2019 LEP program

This particular tank was not built by RBSL (You will not find this marking or mention on this tank), it belongs to the MBT project “Advanced Technologies” (Not relevant to the “LEP” project) and the next project “MCGS” (At least its gun). Arrived in UK to demonstrate technology, and nothing more

The LEP program included

This equipment can be obtained by both Germany and UK, I personally don’t see any problems with this, the analogy with KPZ-70. Although I agree with Ghost, that there are too many UK players here who want to make a row…

I think this tank should be in both tech trees, for the UK it should be free to unlock while for Germany it can be either an event or squadron vehicle or maybe a premium, But if Germany gets the Leopard 2-140 and the Swiss Panzer 87 140 then I would say Germany doesn’t need a Chally with 130mm.

there seems to be a lot of confusion about how this vehicle came about, some say it was part of a British project and others purely German project while others say its was a joint project, i believe that it is important to know the circumstances of who was involved in the project before a fair and reasonable suggestion of implementation can be made.

Yea wheels can be used as a way of comparasion, as old design wheels were taken from old Cr2s that were used for parts when new ones broke. Also see overall shape, placement of parts on the turret etc.

As I already said, does not apply to the “LEP” project. Rheinmetall requested permission for the tank hull in order to supply the 130th gun and a new turret, and at the same time test it in Germany, at a training ground near the city of Heide. UK had a similar project, called Vickers Mk.7, with a similar situation

Im not saying it does, just correcting the fact that it is a 2019 LEP tank itself

If you mean the body, then no, it’s a regular Challenger 2

Old Challenger 2 with the same body

This particular tank was created in Germany, and precisely by Rheinmetall, not RBSL (As mentioned earlier), with permission from the UK to use the Ch 2 hull. That’s why I gave the Vickers example

It is the 2019 LEP tank you can even tell by the turret

Other nations vehicles are always being requested for the German tech tree, it’s kind of a meme at this point. I’ve seen it go as far as to them requesting the F-22 because they were stationed at a U.S. Air Force base in Germany, same with Su-25s from the Soviet Union.

Yeah it is quite ridiculous

Well that also goes for others 😅
Add Czech AH-1Z Viper for USSR.
This one per example

I agree, however it’s not near as capitalized.

This was already suggest for British ground. Its the british branch of rheinmetal that made this and this features a auto-cannon, britain should get this. Just like the chally 3 is being made by the british not german aide of rheinmetal

Built by british Rheinmetal. There’s multiple lines, british german and i think other countries will join too soon.

Well someone from every nation wants something from another nation. No need to play to a bully program and specifically label germany players with it.

How does Germany have a claim

They didn’t get what this tank was in 2019 the Challenger 2 LEP and RBSL is based in the UK but is just partly German owned.

How does a German company that tried to showcase a gun on a British tank should go to Germany when Germany wouldn’t never get this tank IRL as they don’t have Challenger 2 to upgrade and that no one has accepted use with the 130mm gun or made any requirements for this new gun. For all we know they Germany next gun that they use in what ever MBT they adopted could be a 140 or 150 we just don’t know

I think this is like that french Type-59 a while back…
Since it was a tank (originally) designed by russia, owned by egypt and modified by france, it can go to any of those TT’s

Edit: corrected name

I sure HOPE SO, unless they give it to hungary first… imma just quit at that point… or worse… pull a french 1789
