Rework J-out into "Crew bails, tank stays" instead of the 3km auto-kill

So apparently next patch they’re changing J-out so the nearest enemy within 3km automatically gets the kill. I get the direction, but honestly it feels kinda lazy, and it’s gonna end up giving kills to some random dude who just happened to be nearby instead of the guy who actually drop the bomb.

So I had an idea. Let me know if this makes sense.

Oh and just to be clear, this is mainly for Ground RB.

What if J-out worked like this?

Basically: crew leaves, tank stays.

  1. Your tank doesn’t blow up when you J-out

You J out, your crew bails, but the tank just sits there. It doesn’t turn into a wreck or anything — it becomes an abandoned vehicle.

Enemies can still see it, shoot it, whatever.
Whoever destroys it gets the kill, same as a normal kill.

  1. You get a small SP refund for bailing

I think something like 50 SP sounds about right.

You’d need to bail out 2–3 times just to afford another basic spawn, so it’s not like you’re making more than a kill. It won’t become a farming thing. But at least you get something back — kinda like your crew actually escaped and made it back on foot. Makes sense, right?

  1. End of match recovery/capture system

· If your team wins:
The tanks you left behind count as recovered by your side. You get your repair cost back.
· If your team loses:
Those abandoned tanks count as captured by the enemy team. The winning team gets a bit of extra rewards.

Why would this be better?

With this, CAS players don’t have to deal with the “vanishing tank” bullshit anymore. Tankers don’t have to do the whole “lose-lose is better than giving him a kill” thing — instead it’s actually a win-win.

Plus if your tank gets stuck on a rock or in a ditch, J-out just cuts your losses instead of deleting your vehicle for nothing.

Less community salt, better overall vibes.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Open to suggestions.

and the dm of abandoned tanks should be changed too, or nobody can destroy a unmanned vehicle

You should make a suggestion, if you want a rework

sorry,I don’t actually know the rules of suggestion block

why

I’d upvote it. Just take some time to really present what you mean in a clear visual form, along with how it would integrate into gameplay more.

roger,I’ll make a picture later

Crews move back on foot

Would be abused, and frankly i think thats just unnessesary

Crews scuttle tanks IRL.
In-game it’s no different.

J-out is bailing out, then where do the crew actually go? This mechanic answers that. Plus it reduces your losses when your tank gets stuck or flipped, and it avoids kills being miscredited to some random guy who didn’t do anything.

well, that’s right, but it can avoids kills being miscredited to some random guy who didn’t do anything.

would be intresting to have that as a mechanic.

Would like for the J out reward to stay however if an “Abandoned Target Destroyed” was also added for 75% of a kill it would double punish J out kill deniers by giving the enemy a chance to get 175% of the score the would have gotten if you werent unsportsmanly.

the J out is a net good but it will be a shame that as a playerbase we cant deny yak 9K or american CAS revenge players free kills anymore. Thats an issue that should be fixed by majorly spiking SP costs and BRs of those vehicles though

I guess on the basis of “Crew survived”.

I think I saw a suggestion like this for planes,.as in “You successfully bailed/ejected and pilot/crews survived”

You lost your vehicle. You messed up and had to leave your tank behind. That’s a fail, not a victory lol

Could be just made like “Fatal damage” already is - the one who caused/attributed to gets majority of the score and if finished or someone else gets the final blow - get the rest (I don’t remember how rewards are split, was it 70-30 or something like this?).

As to prevent the indefinite stage - just force the abandoned tank yo explode in a few seconds (justifying that crew dropped a grenade or set the vehicle to destruction in any other fashion)

True, but the people still alive a d it’s a win for some.

In any case it just reminded my an ancient suggestion

You mean like what’s already in naval?

I have no problems with some random ground player getting a bonus kill if someone were to J out to avoid dying to CAS.
Ground battles after all.

Effectively? Yeah. Or air, where “Fatal damage” is pretty much a kill anyway (sure, the target can try and limp back to airfield, but chances are low)
