Just because something has been anticipated for a long time doesn’t mean it’s justified, and isn’t the fact that you’re not getting kills a sign that there’s something wrong with your skills and playstyle?

For example, there are people who just keep chasing enemies all the way to the edge of the map with terrible aim.
That’s what called “stalemate” in chess.

It makes obtaining kills too easy. Rare real life accounts turn into a lol afk ingame mechanic. Easy to abuse. And even if not abused…you get kills too easily.

Personally I think that it should be limited to “engaged targets” or engagement range, for gun only fighters that’s ~800m max even by WT standards, maybe 3 to 5km for IR missiles and ARHs once they go Pit Bull on the target.

Just got two air kills in air arcade. I was in my attacker plane grinding NPC targets on a frontline map. I didn’t even look at enemy players, but got two kills from idiots who hit a tree or something. The whole mechanic is way off and the range far too high.

It might make sense in a few RL examples where a board of officers look at existing air footage and might grant a maneuver kill for a very rare and special situation. When the crash definetly happened due to the dogfight situation.

You just can’t have something like this in an action oriented MMO with crash"'kills" left and right.

war thunder isn’t chess.

and manouver kills are a thing.
If you crash in a fight, you lost the fight.
The enemy deserves a reward for causing you to crash

I doubt it works like this irl :) Like a 3km bubble around you, which magically grants you every kill lol.

This is a game…

ofc it has mechanics that don’t exist IRL.

that’s why they’re called game mechanics.
Crazy, I know

Maneuver kills are a very rare RL thing. Its so special it should be never part of a video game. Especially when its so easy to abuse. And makes no sense in especially Ground RB.

I partially agree with both you and @Thodin , I think it’s a good mechanic over all, but maybe a bit too generous, I think you should be within or close to gun range, or have a missile actively tracking to get a maneuver kill.

This one makes sense.

3km makes sense for top tier due to missiles
lowering the range would only make sense where guns are the main killing force.

Still, the reason why it’s 3km is to prevent people from losing rewards for someone denying a kill because they’re salty. We have a similar system with J-ing out already

In ground RB its pretty much common sense to suicide bomb tanks or to crash into the ground when you want to spawn a different unit, run out of ammo etc.

Why in hell should players get rewarded with precious kills, just cause I want to spawn a different unit??? They get valuable spawn points just cause I want to end my current spawn? Thats a crazy take.

? If the aircraft damaged you (Player A), then moved to attack someone else (Player B) and crashed while attacking B, then Player B was the last one damaged = Player B should get credit. That’s fair

and that’s why the manouver kill system exists.

People killing themselves so others don’t get kill credit

It’s true that it’s not chess, but it is a game.
Fairness is essential in games.

I completely agree that in cases involving some form of combat—such as a maneuver kill—even if no bullets hit during that exchange, or even if the plane is pay-to-win, it still counts.

But if that’s not the case, it can’t be called a game.

But thats not how it works. Instead you getting kills when an opponent gets dogfighted into the ground, you simply get free kills…unexpected and for no effort.

RL: Effective WW2 gun range about 100m or something? War Thunder: Getting autokills in a 3km bubble.

Community loves it.

But dealing with unreasonable opponents like that is kind of exciting, isn’t it?
Since my country has a partnership between an NSFW game company and Snail, I want to pay Snail, but I don’t want to pay the NSFW company a single cent. That’s why I’m still trying a tough battle.

well yes, I was thinking WW2 props for that.

you can RTB and land (and counter point in ground you could get the base plane refunded for doing this), but if you suicide bomb someone they probably should get the maneuver kill as you died trying to kill them.

but what if they avoided damage by driving behind a house and CAS player was so target fixated they flew into said house trying to track them? They died due to player Bs actions, not player As.
This is a simple, but complex new mechanic… I think we need to take it as it’s intended, as a deterrent to preventing others getting kills and not get too caught up in who had more right to the credit.

Thats not how GRB works. Its too fast paced for wasting your time with lengthy flights.

Then end them quickly
