Especially when spotting. You can run an entire match spotting, either with a drone or vehicle, rack up 9 or 10 assists and still find yourself in the bottom third of the scoreboard.
Spotting is a key aspect of helping your team win. I’ve lost count of the number of matches we’ve won due to spotting alone. It makes a serious difference.
You follow, track and spot an enemy, you put in all the work, and if a friendly eliminates that guy with a single .50 cal, he gets far more credit.
Scouting an enemy gives 0 rp, and an assist view a spot gives about 100rp. It’s poor.
It needs to be balanced so it doesnt overtake kills as a reward, but spotting in it’s current state just isn’t worth it most of the time.
I don’t disagree that scouting via a vehicle is pretty significant and helps the team. Rewards should represent that (same goes for shooting down AC, it’s disproportionately low).
Added to that I think the fact that the active scouting with the vehicle also puts you in a position to kill the target (or get killed), makes it of higher value and worth rewarding more.
I don’t agree that rewards should be enhanced for drone scouting though. Their design is such that it leverages the galloping problem with blanks in the game (your shots will pass right through where you see the AC going). Due to their small size and a simple turn movement throwing off the server/client tracking, gunslinger SPAA without shrapnel based shells (almost all of them) can often not shoot them down.
Both SL/RP and mission score should be buffed considering how often (ie poorly controlled for) “double servicing” (ie; kill stealin’) targets is in the game.
