It’s because it requires you to have the most squad streaks, like “teamwork” and “supporting fire”. If you want to get best squad fast and easy, play with multiple friends, and stay close to them :)

Easiest way I found to getting guaranteed teamwork medals is to have at least one member of the squad be in a plane.
Plane-tank teamwork medal has a very generous reward radius, whereas for tanks IIRC you must be like 100 meters if not 50 meters away to qualify. I’ve failed to get teamwork medals when flanking an enemy my assigned squadmate was occupying.
If your squadmate has a PE-8, it’s a guaranteed best squad medal if you’re close to the cap and the enemy swarmed it.
