there is pve gameplay but it has no business changing the outcome of a match and never should have any
bulk of the playerbase is ground mains who only want RP for cas. they mostly bomb, and will do it in anything for fast rp
BTW, everyone complains about orbit bombers, but almost nobody complains about Orbit Ta152 or runaway F-104. It is strange isn’t it?
we do complain about it actually, F-104 and other superfast supersonics should not be 9.3, and I’ve never seen a spaceclimber or airfield camper 152, it’s more of a specific player thing, like Real K Soze for example
Yep. Id quite enjoy a bit of PW4 action on the Typhoon, but in ARB its a waste of weight and in ASB I usually end up just ditching them. Not that there is really anything worthwhile to drop them on

Using the example mission I proposed earlier:
A typical game has what, 16 players and 10 (I think) bot attackers. Assume they’re 100 tickets each. Throw in, idk, 52 AI ground units, both soft and hardened, worth 50 tickets each. Then add in a Deep Strike-style bombing target with the same value of tickets in destructible buildings (let’s say again 26 buildings at 100 each). Match has 5200 tickets in this example. Each of the three can take up to 2600. Either fully doing all 3 or doing 1 plus any portion of the other two wins you the game, take your pick what.
The remaining player who is running away endlessly, AF camping, or climbing to orbit, would be worth 2 AI ground unit or factory building bombing target kills. Assuming nobody else was alive to kill those, would it really pain you THAT much to kill all of TWO AI ground/building units?
You would win the match the exact same way, and arguably do it much faster than trying to chase down the last straggler.
Is such a proposed setup not to your benefit? Likewise for everyone else who has rightfully complained about someone hiding in orbit, hiding on their runway, running away endlessly, or hiding in some obscure map corner on a piece of dirt flat enough to land on?

It doesn’t need to stay the same, but ARB literally devolved into a much less complex gamemode.
There have been next to no improvements or changes to the core gameplay loop, all they did was make alternative playstyles and objectives almost impossible
last time I checked killing a single bomber does not win the game
i dont usually have to shoot bombers because i have teammates that do
if it comes down to me being the last of 16 people on my team and defeating all enemy fighters i wll kill the bombers who chose to be useless
if you dont want to lose dont play a bomber

Last I checked, one bomber sortie does not win the game.
With all the copy-pasting done the last couple years, I would not doubt it in the slightest.

also an extension here for @Stockholm_Blend if the bomber can aim it takes skill to kill it. if you cant aim thats ok just accept being a bad player at this rate

and at lowtier they didn’t even need to be coordinated and none of the enemy fighters could ever reach your altitude and catch up to you

Any plane class ending games solely by its own objective excludes all the others, and is therefore unhealthy game design.
Honestly, at this point, just remove fighters for a year so we get rid of these attention addled muppets that would clearly prefer to play COD.
Actually they still do. In the squad with the random I mentioned earlier, both he & I used tech tree PBM-1 Mariners with 4x1000lb bombs. We did in fact annihilate all three bases and the runway.
Also, I have done that unsquadded using the 2.0 He-111H-3 and its firebombs.
