- Modifications for rebalanced vehicles needs to take place
- Nerfing/buffing vehicles at their current BR using modifications sounds great
- None of the above
As the title says, what do you guys think of moving the tiers of particular modifications to make the grind easier or harder for vehicles that have had their BR increased or decreased based on their abilities after being fully spaded. Or adjusting starting ammunition/modifications (such as bombs/rockets) to effectively soft nerf or buff vehicles that are a little too powerful or weak when stock.
An example of this, would be the falcon spaa. At 8.3 it is the highest tier spaa without radar, and is only at that br due to its apds belt, a tier 4 modification, and is tier 4 due to its past as a 7.3 - 7.7 vehicle. and it makes this vehicle extremely hard to play, resulting in many players skipping it to grind the marksman or za-35 which are the same br, have the same apds belt (in the case of the marksman) and have radar. moving this modification to tier 1 or 2, would allow players to use this vehicle effectively after just researching 1 tier 1 modification.
An example of adjusting modification order to soft nerf or buff vechles could be done with the 7.0 spaa, ZSU-57-2, arguably one of the most op vehicles at that br. Its stock round has 151mm of pen, compared to vehicles such as the kugelblitz (7.0) with 58mm pen stock, 77mm spaded as a teir 4 modification. (yes i know the zsu doesn’t fire as fast and is open top). Therefore, moving its stock belts to a teir 3 modification and leaving it with its HE belts stock, or copying the air vehicles modifications and having a modification called “new 57mm belts” that would give it access to its full armament would be far better in the long run to balance the vehicle. Other vehicles at higher brs with similar performing rounds such as the scimitar (7.7) with 110mm of pen at a tier 3 modification that have similar handling as the zsu (the scim handles like a drunk cat) demonstrate that the vehicle is to op at its current br and something needs to be done about it.
For air, planes that are on the border with fox-3’s could be given their upgraded countermeasures as stock or upgraded aa missiles stock too.
overall, the tiering of modifications often don’t change when vehicles get moved brs, often making them unplayable until the driving factor of that br change is researched. An in-depth reevaluation of modifications needs to take place to rebalance vehicles at their new brs and it also open up vehicles to new balancing techniques.
