Just out here unlocking the heli tree by playing ground vehicles i love.
Only way I unlock helicopter trees.
Next is to find the will to actually use them, but at least they’re unlocked.

That would be dumb
Spading those helos is another joy. Depending on what type it is, it’s almost impossible to spade some of the lower tier helos that are slower, and have limited range weapons systems on the Helo server. Cobras and Mi-24 just zipping along while I’m slowly flying along in the Scout, only to get zapped by some radar guided SPAAs that suddenly appeared 3km from my position.
By the time I do arrive, the rocket carrying ones clear up the column while ATGMs slowly fly towards the target, or their gone by the time I arrive.
It is a good feature though.
Pretty much, still a shame realistically modding them will cost 3500 or so GE unless there is a sale. Now they need to add that button to naval for coastal vessels.
That would cost more “Gaijin put the last nail in the Naval’s coffin” threads, though, at least for me, I’m not a Naval main but I play a very few times here and there will be best than all that unnecessarily research time needed to spent, specially on Coastal because of how bad some vessels can be specially in certain huge open maps with spawn-to-spawn engagements.

Other than Suddenly Gepard and Rocky Canyon, having to fight your own team in “PvE” for points can be the worst part of it.
At least the Scout is pretty good straight out of the box.
Yeah, you’re not wrong. 300k rp just to spade those higher-tier helis. Meanwhile there are so many ground units that can nuke your stock-butt on sight. It’s a shame.

That would be dumb.
It’s not bad, but again when you’re competing against your own team, some who are equipped with rockets, who can travel faster, they can zap an entire convoy, while I’m waiting for my ATGMs to reload. I’ll fire my ATGM, watch it slowly move to the target only for someone else to yeet it. Sometimes I’ll just ignore the SPAAs and let the deal with them.
