Request for a Fairer Matchmaking System and Greater Transparency in Anti-Cheat Enforcement

To the Gaijin Entertainment team and War Thunder community managers,

We are raising concerns about repeated encounters with highly coordinated squadron groups, particularly VPO and ITRA, in high-tier Air Arcade Battles and other matchmaking environments.

Multiple players have expressed concerns about one-sided matches, repeated encounters with the same groups, and gameplay that they believe warrants closer investigation. Some players suspect possible collusion or other rule violations. We recognize that these concerns must be assessed using objective evidence rather than squadron affiliation alone.

However, when players repeatedly report suspicious behavior and receive little or no information about the outcome, confidence in the reporting system can deteriorate.

We respectfully request that Gaijin address the following issues:

  1. Thorough investigation of suspected rule violations

Review relevant server replays for evidence of prohibited cooperation between opposing players, match manipulation, or cheating. Reports should be evaluated on observable behavior and available evidence, regardless of a player’s squadron membership or spending history.

  1. Greater transparency in the reporting process

Provide clearer information about how reports are reviewed, how players can submit useful evidence, and whether a report has been processed where disclosure is possible without compromising anti-cheat investigations.

  1. A review of matchmaking fairness

Examine whether repeated encounters with highly coordinated groups, queue timing, or other matchmaking dynamics can produce persistently one-sided matches. Consider whether any adjustments could improve the experience for the wider player base.

  1. Consistent enforcement of the rules

Ensure that the same rules apply to all players, regardless of their squadron, reputation, account history, or spending level. If evidence establishes a violation, appropriate action should follow the published rules.

  1. Meaningful communication with the community

Publish periodic summaries of enforcement activity and explain what evidence players should provide when reporting suspected cheating or collusion.

We are not asking Gaijin to punish entire squadrons based on allegations. We are asking for credible evidence to be investigated fairly, the rules to be enforced consistently, and matchmaking concerns to be taken seriously.

Players invest significant time and, in many cases, money into War Thunder. A fair and trustworthy competitive environment is essential to maintaining that commitment.

We ask Gaijin to acknowledge these concerns and provide a substantive response outlining what can be investigated and what improvements, if any, are being considered.

Fair play should depend on the rules, not on who a player is or how much they spend.

Thank you.

Man im RB player and even i know their reputation.

Gaijin cant really just cherrypick sweat squadrons to force out of matchmakers, just as they are hesitant to deal with well known sealclub vehicles.

IK that air arcade has super downtier mechanics and stuff, may be the right direction to axe things like that and get full squads to face more full squads overall

Whats up with air arcade squadrons? Sweaty players with tactics?

TLDR theres an extreme sealclubbing epidemic with 2-3 squadrons in AAB with very toxic tenancies that can make AAB unplayable without being ganked for all of your lives my them, every single match.

RB and SB players have it real easy in comparison with the occasional questionable players or sweat squad, for AAB its almost always an occurrence

Is it really almost every match?

Can confirm, I almost never encounter an organized squadron that manages to have considerably more control in a match than just a random team with a bunch of good players.

Regarding sweat players, maybe I fit that description, but I always play alone. I’ve tried some squadrons but we don’t really build up tactics, and it ends up mostly with just extra yapping and noise on top of playing the game at random anyways.

Ground AB and RB is a bit worse, but still nowhere near as bad as most online games I’ve played, like tarkov, rust, battlefield etc.

Forgot to add, it’s been known for a couple squads of them to queue at the same time to get into games together to that it’s a 6-8 man squad.

I’ve had this happen where friends playing in another squad have by randomly ended up in the same match if GRB, all I will say if squads were bigger than four every single match would be a bloodbath. Doing that intentionally if provable probs should be worth bans as it’s ridiculous

Damn those guys must be pathetic

For context, heres a vid by “Aoeilaeiepae Hunts Teams”, hes the air arcade guy and is imfamous for being able to out-sealclub VPO and GUUD. His most viewed video is just on “how to deal with VPO/GUUD”

The thing about going away to become unspotted again is also very important in RB because the spotting system is similar.

If I kill someone who likely spotted me, even after he dies, and I just keep going aggressively looking for more fights, I will probably get ambushed, so its important to turn away or climb for a bit and then recommit.
