With the new update, we are seeing longer-range fire-and-forget missiles being equipped on the AH-64E, Z-10ME, and Mi-28NM. Spike NLOS still feels like a big leap to introduce into the game at this stage. However, the Spike ER2 offers a balanced middle ground, with a range comparable to the newer missiles being added (10-16km).
The ER2 appears to be compatible with any platform capable of launching the Spike ER, meaning that the A-129 and French Tiger could equip them. Rafael even confirms that these helicopters are capable of using the system. In addition, the Spike ER2 could be added to the Saraph in the Israeli tech tree.
+1, I’ve previously mentioned the Idea and wholeheartedly agree, all it takes would be to take the Spike ER and copy the code of the JAGM/LMUR, adjust it and place that into the body of the Spike, they are 16km iirc and would make a balanced and fair addition to both Saraph and AH-60 in the 16x quantity
While it would be nice to see the AH-60 receive them as well, I think it would be better if the Saraph were equipped with Spike ER2s while the Battlehawk retained its original missiles. This would create some differentiation between the two and could also allow for different BRs in the future as top tier expands.
If there were feasible and seperate BRs for Israeli top tier, I’d agree, but limiting one and placing it at a useless BR undermines those who grinded it, ER2s should come for both in order to remain logical and consistent, having one heli at 12.0 and another at 12.3 when they serve a functionally identical role is pointless
Maybe with the moving up of top tier CAS and SAMs, and the addition of a new merkava (mk4m-400, barak, mk5), forming a 12.3/12.7 lineup, then I would agree, but now it would feel like a stab in the back
8km spikes while everyone else has 16km+ equivalents with better and newer modelling/code is again, a stab in the back and utter waste of research for now, if so chosen they can remove the SPIKE ER2 when a more balanced Br arises
Yeah, we’d have to wait for BR decompression, which could take forever. It’s just an idea to avoid having two similarly performing helis at the same BR when they could both be viable at different BRs.
Also, does the AH-60 get any kind of LDIRCM? Upgrading and moving it up in BR without better countermeasures would hurt it.
Elbit is working on LDIRCM systems for both, I hava a picture of a mockup for the Saraph, but no date for when they will come to fruition, all Israeli military helicopters are planned to receive them though
I agree, and tbh in the time it would take me to finish the Peten and grind the Saraph i’d probably not have such concerns about the blackhawk getting left behind but oh well, we’ll see what the future holds
Gaijin just sucks at balancing when it comes helicopters. I would argue that helicopters have the biggest power creep compared to other vehicle types yet is the easiest to balance.
LDIRCM was a hideously one-sided addition, even worse than FNF over the years and has completely tipped the scales to the already amazing eastern helis, yeah the powercreep is going from non existent to massive for helis over the span of 2 updates
