Remove the map ban and have proper rotation

I can’t remember the last time I got Red Desert despite me liking it.

I’d also like to see the huge version of Tunisia more often, but I see it maybe once a month if I’m lucky.

Yet I am forced to play COD sized maps every single day, of which the flanking routes and vantage points are gradually chipped away by map borders.

From what I understand Like and Dislike have 0 influence on the MM. They are just a stat for Gaijin. Which is a real shame.

I disliked Campania and now it’s my most often seen map XD

Apparently according to Stona it does affect map selection. But no where the amount the ban function does.

When I was playing I would happily have supported this suggestion. Would be more than happy to give up the opportunity to ban a single map if it meant proper map rotation and not getting Flanders 4 out of every 10 games I played. There are quite a few maps that when I was playing up until recently I hadn’t seen for ages, and yet you get the same ones over and over. I think that what you propose would be a step in the right direction.

Sweden is my go-to 100% of the time ban. But Id kill for several more bans

I dont believe that. Tunisia and Sands of Sinai are both maps I have liked. They are also the maps I get the least

Lol, I think everyone would. I didn’t think about it but when I bought some of the packs while it was on sale, I got some prem time, so I won’t see Campania for awhile :)

I’d hope not lol.

Yeah. Should have 1 ban no matter what and then like 1 to 2 additional bans if you have premium

Apparently according to Stona the amount of bans available now is enough to severely affect map selection.

Gaijin hate long queue times. Id ban about 50% of the maps if I could :D

But hey at least the maps you’d see are ones you’d like XD

Assuming as a ballpark that we had 100 different maps then how long would it take to get through all 100 before they rotate?

Could you live with seeing Sweden once or twice in a 12-hour period ?

I understand if every player had the right to a map ban there would an effect on queue times due to matching people and maps and may have an effect on rotation so that is why I am asking, if the map ban went would it enable proper rotation? As jd_hog77 stated it was Stona who said this I think.

Would the player base be directly contributing to making the game better by making a sacrifice. I have premium and I would be willing to do it.

Yeah, Id take a longer queue time to get a decent map everytime

Oh… You dont mean “map rotation” in the classical sense of: “for this period of time you can see only these select maps and the MM will randomly pick from them and then next rotation you’ll see a different set of maps”

and rather a fixed rotation of maps that you cycle through

Map 1 > Map 2 > Map 3 > etc etc etc until you play through them all…

To be honest. Id prefer to keep bans even if that is the case. Because the negative side of that is that you also only see the maps you like just as rarely as you see the maps youd hate

No I mean every map WT has ever done or still has in rotation over however long it takes to get through them all be it 12 hours or 24 or whatever.

This is fine as a statement, and I am not going to shout it down or support it because I made this post. It’s a relevant point.
Do you mind seeing the maps you like 3 times in a row though? No problem with that? Just thinking our favorite maps are somebody else’s most hated and there we have the issue and that is something I am looking to overcome with this.

Many players might say a map is map and the skill lies elsewhere. That may be a different debate possibly.

Sversk-13. Not only is it one of the worst maps in the game, I get it waaaaaayyyyy more often than any other map. About half of my gameplay is spent on that turd of a map.

I would get bored of the same map every single time in a row (though that being said. in ASB where I can pick the map, I do tend to pick the same few maps everytime). But I think it would be more accurate to say that I prefer larger maps, where I can engage in actual, long range hull down fire and those are becoming ever more rare. Most of the maps which are COD style CQB fights, I just dont enjoy. Whilst random MM, with only 1 ban, will mean that I will quite often play maps I dislike. I have just as much of a chance to get one of the few maps I do enjoy.

A rotation system where you just work through every map is an interesting concept. You ensure that you do get to see every map at least once, and no chance of getting a map you hate 3 times in a row (which is unfortuantely common I find). So it really swings at roundabouts.

Though even with a fixed rotation of maps system. A ban would not hurt. as it would just be the same as skipping a map.
