These guys will always equate Clouds = good no matter what they are, when most of the time people are complaining about the low altitude haze/fog that is such a massive problem. Of course you can make arguments about their quirks, pro’s and con’s, but the consistent one it’s always going to have is that it exacerbates the already congested and concentrated 16v16 nature of ARB. Vietnam, Golan Heights, Spain, etc. These maps are hilly, now add in a 200-1500m side fog/cloud or whatever, then you’re fucked unless you bring out the menu to see the map every millisecond like you’re playing FNAF.
Now try to keep track of where’s the enemy, is it an AI?, is it heading towards me, does he know where I am, did I already got fired upon by a missile, am I heading towards the face of a cliff, and etc. R-alt helps, but it doesnt help when you’re heading towards the former in Mach 1.1. Shit, might as well just uninstall and dogfight GTA 5 players in the Hydra or something.
I see too many players just crashing in the first hill after takeoff in dark and cloudy missions. The ability to get information about radar altitude was added for a good reason: When you are flying low over the terrain ALWAYS keep an eye on radar altitude. If you see its value drastically decreasing it is a sign of pulling the aircrafts nose up. Then you can avoid crashes in most cases. In addition situational and locational awareness is a very important perk in ARB. You need to remember where you saw an enemy or a hill last to react accordingly.
Worth retaking a look at this?
I would be ok with clouds. If they were server sided, the cloud patterns are client sided for some reason
What’s up with the clouds?
It’s pretty cool…
I only hit the ground twice thanks to the clouds, once I was looking around the map and was inattentive and the second time my opponent cleverly got me into the ground… I was already on his sixth, knew he didn’t have speed and so I took it into the clouds, but there was a hill right below them… Both games over, the player did well…
And there aren’t so many maps that you can’t remember which direction to fly after the start…
They’re just clouds, if it’s trees I understand but the clouds aren’t that bad. In fact they make my plane look cooler
Tbh some of the tutorials suck. Like I was trying to figure out how to lock guided bombs using it and it never gave me clear instructions on what to do.
You enjoy staring at your plane in a poorly lit grey void?
