The issue wasnt necessarily the forced AF take-off. The issue was that it defaulted to that but you could still select air spawn if you remembered to do so. This meant that those that did, got a major advantage over those who forgot.
That is just unnecessary and annoying.
The concept of “bad weather forcing runway spawn” is in itself a tad bit unrealistic, as bad weather is more likely to ground an aircraft than it is to prevent an aircraft already airbourne from entering the area having taken off from an AF elsewhere that has “good weather”. Though the bad weather was just… not bad. It was light overcast nothing that wouldn’t worry anything larger than a microlight.
If it was actual, proper bad weather, once in a while AND it locked you to AF spawn (though again, if anything AF spawn in that situation would be more unreaslistic than “air spawn”) then it might not have been too bad.
And that’s just ARB.
GRB… Eh… I have mixed opinions on forced AF spawns and it really comes down to what aircraft you are talking about. Typhoon, dont care normally, but sucks if you get targeted by an IRIS-T SLM on take off, but otherwise fine. At lower BRs, like if you were forced to AF spawn in a slower, heavier strike aircraft (not even necessarily a prop but something like an Overladen Jag or something?) then that is just annoying time wasting that i dont think really changes all that much.
TLDR: It was a bit of a weak idea, implemented badly
It was a stupid decision to have air spawns in the first place. I’d rather be sad than participate in the worst update of War Thunder in recent memory. Every single part of this update has been buggy, unnecessary, and downright terrible.
OMG you are so full of it
you get good RP when you make a lot of kills, assists and caps, but sure just say whatever you make up to support your argument. Unreal.
10 minutes spent alive, losing match, 100% RP economy modifier, 100% activity (97% would be more accurate given how curves work, but getting 97% activity in 10 minutes is a guaranteed in GRB if you stay alive with a single vehicle and 100% makes the maths prettier. That 3% wont make a diff)
10 x 60 x 0.71 x 1.0 x 1.0 x 1.34 = 570
With a win:
10 x 60 x 0.71 x 1.0 x 1.0 x 2 = 852.
1 kill = 47 RP.
You need 10 kills per 10 minutes to approximate the reward you get from just staying alive in a LOSING match This becomes 18 kills if it’s a winning match.
You need 20 assists per 10 minutes to approximate the reward you get from just staying alive in a LOSING match. This becomes 40 assists if it’s a winning match.
You need 4 captures per 10 minutes to approximate the reward you get from just staying alive in a LOSING match. This has the smallest diff if we win, at only 5.
The only real benefit kills have is giving you skill bonus for a +100% RP gain before premium multipliers.
This becomes more interesting once we do hit 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes due to activity curves. Beyond 20/25, we don’t have information either. In ARB, 20 minutes & 2200 score seems to correlate loosely with 92% or higher activity in my experience, but ARB score and GRB score avery different (1 kill in ARB or ASB is worth 450 points, so 2200 is around 5 kills).
In ASB we have 92% activity at 1050 score and 15 minutes as a fixed known point for activity% calculations.
Thanks for admitting that you know jackshit about CAS, you have CAS experience with 1 nation and 1 plane and yet here you are telling us how it should be played.
GRB has no exact function discovered or even approximated yet because respawns make it complicated.
It’s easily acquirable though if you put your mind to it and record some 100 or 200 or so games where you one death leave to keep data pure.
Edit:
How activity might look for 1 hour game:
I played a ASB match yesterday where I gained 3009 score over 57 minutes (it was a pretty dead lobby without a lot of enemies to fight). It corresponds to 92% activity.
So yeah, getting AT LEAST 90% activity is a given.
Little dude likes to hit the bottle way too much to be able to make a coherent sentence, let alone form a coherent and logical thought. You’ll just be wasting your time trying to help him catch up with all those graphs and data, to be completely frank.
@DrFlankySpanky
And to follow up on this, I even did you a favor, little guy. Enjoy your education. First 2 pages of my top vehicle list. I’d like to see your mental gymnast attempt out of this one.
Man brought up how many games hes played like that means anything. As if you cant do something wrong or badly 18,000 times. If you dont know you are stupid you are going to keep doing stupid things. SMH
