Remove solid AP from the game

There was a post war 75mm APBC round developed. It’s the M338. A flat nose, ballistic cap AP that has a velocity of 2340 fps.

I doubt it would be useful in game but I believe it was intended to help the 75mm defeat T-34s.

That does n ot excuse the fact that Solid shot AP in this game is a product of Gajins fantasy. Solid shot AP is the only ammo the brits issued because APHE offered almost no benefits at much greater cost. It is also why the US changed to solid shot for anti tank work and why post war France has Solid shot. Solid shot is better at AT work than APHE
The damage of both is as far as historical sources are concerened (US and British field manuals and user testimonies) nearly identical.
Solid AP offered more penetration at the same weight and speed due to its higher density. A fact Gajin openly disregards by Having the same gun fire a slower ligher APHE round with more penetration than a solid AP round. Solid AP also has better angle performance than APHE.
All of this is absent from the game. Then there is the missing bounces of the shell inside the tank. THE main source of injury to the crew in reality. APHE explodes in a physics defying way and Solid AP manages to vanish out of existance. Shells in general always move in a straight line when entering a tank. Which would never happen in reality. The only times they bounce is when the Physics Engine has a spasm.
Solid shot and APDS need an urgend post pen damage increase, APHE needs its sphear of death removed and fragmentation needs to bounce around inside a tank instead of just vanishing into thin air.

What actually happened was the FCM.36, the H.35 and the Ha-Go were taken out of the tech tree on Feb 11/19, the same day the de Marre formula came into play, because their new pen was so poor. Due to a player outcry they were all returned to the tech tree as rank II researchables a week later, and are still there.

The Gun Carrier (3-in) in the UK tree has only AP or a pure HE shell and i’m pretty sure it’s the only tank in the game with pure AP only

OP is right and every bug reporter on the subject of solid shot can see where hes coming from.

Gaijin doesnt care about the intricacies of capped or non-capped of solid AP. No matter how many reports were made on the questionable bounce chances on anything without a ballistics cap.

The M103s solid shot, for example, shouldve been a massive silver bullet on almost every soviet heavy tanks sloped front armor. But in-game its useless against the IS-3s front armor, the tank it was exactly made to counter. With a HEAT shell that the M60 at same BR with a higher penetration without the unbearable reload.

I can deal with solid shot lack of post pen killing power, but it would at least be nice for it to at least have penetration advantage somewhere against APHE shells.

Solid AP, not APC or APCBC.

APC and APCBC are also almost useless due to the bugged damage models.
If Gajin makes the shells more historically accurate even solid AP will be good enough.
Solid APHE is also good in anglepen and Solid AP should be slightly better in both pen and angle pen. Add proper internal physics (bouncing) to the shell and shrapnel and suddenly solid AP deals a decent amount of damage. nerf the death sphere of APHE and the two shells will be similar in damage per shot.
Right now my power scale goes sth like this:
100% APHE (in all its variants)
95% APDSFS
70-80% HEAT
50% HESH
20% AP (in all variants) (if it was at least consistent each hit then maybe 50%)
5% APDS
1% APCR

0-100% HE
