Remove release speed on top tier jets

Seriously as far as I know most modern jets don’t require you to be below mach to drop your bombs. Game play wise its an unnecessary nerf to air craft in both ground rb and air rb

It’s called a positive pressure zone, which causes even heavy bombs to stick to the underside of jets, simply because the pressure is higher outside than it is closer to the wing, therefore I tries to stay in that pocket…

For big dumb bombs or GBU’s I understand, but for things like Mavericks it makes no sense, they have a motor and act more like missiles but bigger and those can be launched with no problem yet we have mach limit on them in game.

It’s because mavericks have a high mach limit so they don’t rip themselves apart, I don’t really know if it’s realistic or not but I do know that bombs can’t be dropped at those speeds.

If you can’t accept common knowledge just say so, making baseless accusations because you failed middle school science class doesn’t help anyone and is toxic.

This is how lift works, a bomb that is top heavy will be pushed into the wings from airflow if the aircraft is traveling too fast.

AFAIK speed limits for bomb release is mostly a question of how the bomb release mechanism works on the specific aircraft.

For example, does the hard point “eject” the bomb, or just merely release it?

If it doesn’t eject or force the bomb out in some way then you might have problems with store separation.

Some aircraft designed for supersonic bombing use creative techniques to avoid this issue, for example the A5 Vigilante. It doesn’t drop the bombs, but slide it out the back.

I would also like to make a note that my main gripe is how it affects game play. Most top tier jets easily go above mach, especially in ground rb with its air spawn. Its so easy to go above mach 1 and you almost have to if you want to have a chance at defending the top tier spaa that you have to get semi close to drop your bomb load (either dumb or gbu). I hope this clears things up with my post, I don’t know much about the specifics of aeronautical engineering this is mainly a game play focused post rather than a historical accurate post.

They don’t have a mach limit? It’s Mach 1.4, primarily due to its instability at such speeds.
Not sure if that’s what you meant by mach limit, but almost no vehicle carrying mavericks would even reach those speeds with AGM-65s equipped.

At high altitudes it’s easily achievable, especially with F-16C.

Again though, when would you reach the 930kts needed to restrict firing? You DEFINITELY won’t be reaching it in a straight line, and you’d need to be diving full-burner, no airbrake, without drop tank, and with low-drag bombs… Even then, you’ll barely be reaching those speeds.

If you can get me a screenshot in-match of you hitting M1.4 in GRB with the F-16C, you win.

Done it plently of times, with Mavericks and AMRAAMS equipped, no fuel pod or bombs.
EDIT: Here, you do need to be slightly angled down to each mach 1.5, I’ve dropped from 5km to 3.7km.

Yeah it’s more for near Mach speed, if gaijin wanted to be very realistic they would limit it to the aircraft’s critical Mach number, which is as low as 0.82 for some aircraft.
