Remove Canadian (and other commonwealth) vehicles from tech trees and place into Britain

Just like how the Shot Kal Dalet and F84 were removed from Britain and France respectively and placed into the Israeli tree(s), The C2A1 MEXAS, Stuart VI, Ram II, Grant 1 (USA) etc should be removed from their current trees and added to Britain which as demonstrated by Additions such as the Skink is where Canada belongs.

People can still keep the vehicles if they own them and if this ain’t done, it’s objectively hypocrisy. Not trying to be rude, just stating.

Why not?

UK doesn’t need Leopard

America didn’t need Merkava yet look what happened.

There was no other appropriate TT to add merkava back then. MEXAS is related to Leopard but Merkava isn’t related to anything.

So? Bishma is related to T80/90 yet that came to Britain

It’s a controversial addition but Bhisma adds some uniqueness in the TT but canadian tanks are more appropriate for Germany

Until we get a canadian tree, I’d rather see the country who designed a vehicle get it in-game(cough swiss hunter cough.) I could see the Ram going to the canadian tree, though, as it’s a canadian design.

Okay. For the sake of argument, MEXAS should stay in Germany. What about Ram II? Built on a grizzly hull (Under license Sherman) but with a domestic turret and British gun?

Yeah Ram II should go to UK but not all Canadian tanks

I guess my concern is just people having to jump between 2-3 trees especially at the high to top tiers just to play all their nations vehicles historically.

I live by this rule for Commonwealth vehicles:

  • Unique vehicles go into the British tree.
  • Imported vehicles with little modifications go into their origin nations tree.

So that means the only vehicle in your list that should be move to the British tree is the Ram II. GB already has the Grant, sure it sucks that it’s also a premium but Gaijin could add something like Grant II into the tree later.

I’d also add another rule for vehicles that were built for the British Commonwealth during WW2:

  • If the British fielded it, then it goes in the British tree.
  • If the British didn’t field it, it goes into the origin nations tree.

So that means something like the T18E2 would go into the British tree, but the T14 would stay in the US tree. It also means that when the T17 Staghound comes it would go into the British tree, but things like the T17E3 and Deerhound would go into the US tree. Even the T18E2 with the 37mm could go into the US tree, as the British didn’t field the prototype they only fielded the production model.

No

I mean, no to the OP is fine. I’d still standby my rule. As it’s important to have rules for vehicles being added to the game instead of thrown almost randomly.

That means the Australian Abrams remains in the US tree, Canadian Leopard remains in the German tree, and the Indian T-90 would be moved to the Soviet tree.

but it makes all the techtrees more the same. Why play multiple techtrees if you have all different style of vehicles in one?

My issue like many UK players issue is that we have foreign vehicles in the UK tree when we could and should have UK vehicles there instead.

The skink was requested because at the time it was felt the UK needed something at around late 4BR early 5 .Then they dropped all the horrible 70s/80s South African stuff right into WW2 lines and kind of made the Skink a bit redundant.

So the issue is that Gaijin just make such a mess of throwing new vehicles in that its best not to encourage them.

I am not for precise Era separation, but the game is an ugly messy clash of WW2 and 60s 70s 80s not the nice full set of smaller nations it should be. I would rather take the gaps than the half arsed filler.

And so many UK vehicles we don’t have yet.

you can’t just remove a event vehicle mate

This exactly. I love the Rooikat Mk.1 to bits, because what’s not to love about Lase, Dart and decent mobility? The only downside is the calibre of gun, but well, given we’ve had to think about shot placement before that point it shouldn’t be a major drama.

My issue is it fills a gap… that shouldn’t even be there. We don’t have a Scorpion/Scimitar, both of which are neat little recce vehicles. Granted they’d probably be a lower BR than the Rooikat because of the respective fire power each would bring, but still.

Not to mention the features we don’t have and problems with the ones we do have. Conqueror APDS, though I haven’t played it for a hot minute, is janky and has a nasty habit of shattering randomly on targets it should pen. There’s the debate of whether the Chieftain Mk.3/Mk.5 should have a LRF because it was installed on the 3/3 but no one is entirely sure…
And those are the two that come to mind
