Removal of Japanese Ho-Ri SPGs from the Research Tree and Sale

Does Gaijin currently have any plans to give it a 50% discount in the last week before it’s removal?

Of course, I figured other games would be different. I was just asking because I figured that since they’d already provided enough info to make a 3D model, they might have some info that would help; that’s all.

the plane only existed on a brochure tho

Gaijin’s supposed standard for having “built” vehicles is wildly inconsistent.

Ostwind II: actual design unknown, built
Obj 211: Fake
A.C.IV: Planned but not built

I think this one can be considered same situation as Tiger 105 and Ho-Ri because it was added long time ago before this tanks deleting as paper

seriously? the same dev team that implemented Sovetsky Bogus purely as inferiority complex band-aid is worried about “questionable technical research and inaccuracies”?

wow …

Too recent to be removed I think. It was added after gaijin redid their criteria for new additions. It’s also pretty much just a reskinned F-16A-10/15, everything already existed.

They said this and then added the Rafale with AESA one update sooner btw

Are there any plans for the Ho-Ri prototype to be discontinued at 50% off in the last week before removal?

There is never enough info. You folks have been saying this for over 10 full years.
Yet vehicles with almost nothing, Ostwind II, somehow get added.

Unfortunately, they confirmed they won’t be replacing the Ho-Ri Proto or Product with any actual tanks. Pretty much the Ha-Go piss us off scenario again.

Unlike the Maus, Panther II* and 10.5. Which Germany still had several options and more now.

There’s nothing for Japan. Type 99 and Type 75 are Howitzers. Barely perform in any aggressor roles, which the Ho-Ri was good at. Another reason for more players who might be interested in playing Japan to just not.

How complete? There’s a difference between the hull was completed with no engine or test drives being done. Or did the vehicle only exist as a empty hull prior to any actual other tech being added? I think some things need to exist to a certain point like at least a drivable hull but that’s just me.

If anything I’d be fine with the Ho Ri coming in as a dreams come true

Do WT devs have a phobia of the number 50 now? Every 50% sale is now a 30% sale! Like dude you sell $90 premiums you can’t cheap out on the sale!

so what viable info did you guys use to add the KH-38MT missiles as there’s no info on it past a brochure or a model there’s no evidence of it being used in any theatres of war or being put into physical production, but you guys wont give the F14D its aim7p missiles even though there’s more then enough evidence of them being used by the f14D ?

I’d say the Ostwind 2 and AC4 are fairly comparable actually. One prototype only, of questionable completeness. The only difference is there are zero pics of the Ostwind 2 and plenty of pictures of the Australian E1 prototype.

But both meet the Gaijin line of “one confirmed, possibly functional prototype.” As to the 211, it may well be badly modelled, but there was still one confirmed working prototype there as well. So I don’t see any of those vehicles ever being removed. There’s LOTS of single-prototype vehicles (Ram 3.7 cm, XF5U, etc. etc. etc.). There’s LOTS of extant vehicles that are still botched in their modelling too.

The last time they were asked this, they said there had to be one physically extant (if incomplete) vehicle for air and ground (and a laid-down keel for naval). All three examples here meet that criteria, if narrowly.

so by that logic why is the KH38MT still in the game? you as a company refuse to take credible sources for the existence NATO weaponry (the lack of AIM-7Ps on the F14 for example) but you refuse to remove the KH38MT despite there being ZERO proof of its existence beyond a wooden mockup? and by your logic why isnt the Panther II and Tiger 10.5 back in the game yet the Sovetsky Suyuz remains? whats your explaination?

so you’ll remove the ho-ri’s, panther 2, tiger 105, flak341, r2y2’s but you’ll add the sovetsky soyuz and kh-38mt the soyuz with its fake armor profile and fake gun’s meanwhile the kh-38mt are a concept missile that not in production or in use man the double standards are crazy this game is going down hill.

Panther II->Never existed. The hull, yes, but the turret- we do not know at all what turret was intended or if a turret was built at all.

341->Never had a turret at all built; all we have to base it on is a wooden turret and 2 guns that we do not know were intended for the 341, or whether the wooden mockup was what the turret was going to look like.

R2Y2 V1 was the only one we know would be real, thanks to the info.

V2 and V3 were not purely an artistic need.

10.5 cm → It’s been confirmed that the Tiger II could not fit the gun into a standard Tiger II turret. At all. Documentation confirmed this. They didn’t even bother trying to shove it in because it just could not fit, even the barrel diameter where an 88 would be.

So in terms of 10.5, 341, Panther II->None made sense.

R2Y2 V2, V3->Weren’t ever intended to stay forever.

R2Y2 V1, Ho-Ri’ Prototype: These shouldn’t even be gone.

Production and V2 and V3 should be event vehicles. But an event that rarely comes by, such as once in a multitude of years.

I mean, the devs made a fake version of TOG and refuse to fix it. “Because it’s not the museum one”.

E1 prototype isn’t the AC IV at all. Completely different hulls. Even the turret used on the E1 wasn’t finalized and would have been wider/larger/thicker.

What we have is absolutely a Frankenstein’s Monster like the Panther II, being the AC III hull and AC E1 17-Pdr turret slapped together.

I think the hair-splitting involved in “complete/partially complete/functional/non-functional” in interpreting the “there has to have been at least one physical prototype” rule… that way lies only madness with War Thunder. The XF5U prototype couldn’t even fly, but that was a major event vehicle last year.

There’s nothing you can say about the AC4 you couldn’t equally say about the Japanese Chi-Ri tank (1 prototype, never had its gun mounted), and no one’s talking about removing that. (Similarly there’s nothing you can say about the F-16AJ you can’t also say about Heavy Tank No.6 and no one’s talking about removing that, either.) As to your point about the TOG 2, I actually think giving the players the choice to go with the sponsons or without to match the Bovington one was the right call. I like it when they use modifications to alter physical appearances, they should do more of that, even.

I do think Gaijin has been helping privilege “taken into service” vehicles around the margins with events like Pages of History, where none of the prototype stuff is eligible to earn rewards with. I think they would benefit by doing even more of that kind of subtle incentivization to get players to use “the real stuff” more.

My original question was, has there been anything (after R2Y2s and Ho-Ris, and before that the bubble top P-47s, the XP-38 and the 3 German removals) that Gaijin has said, “yeah, that’s a bodge job from our early days, we’re gonna probably need to remove that later” or even hinted they would. Can’t think of any. We may actually be done with all this lineup disruption after Sept 1.
