You could easily take that into combat.
Yeah and have like no spatial awareness whatsoever. How is the commander going to tell the driver where to drive when he can’t see whats in front or side of the vehicle?
Same how commander is firing his gun from the turret in the current state of the game.
Isnt the heat of the tank also be transfered to the bushes IRL?
Except modern tanks that their camo nets have thermal reduction, but that another topic.
Clearly you did not read it then,
“WaRm ThInGs ArE wArM”.
Do you know that there is a huge difference in temp between humans and a engine big enough to power a tank?
I sent a picture of what a tank looks like in thermal.
If that is not enough for you to understand there is no point commenting on this post.
They would have very little impact.
Wood is a poor heat conductor, This is why you use a wooden spoon to stir boiling water.
On the post I mentioned there are better ways to deal with thermal signature that are being used today. A cloak that will be cooled to counter the heat of the tank itself is far more effective for camouflage.
Tell me you don’t know how FLIR works without telling me you don’t know how FLIR works.
You have the ironies kid.
Maybe somebody should explain to him that basic form of camouflauging from thermals is to get air beetween heatsource and “camouflage” no matter is is bushes infront of it, or some basic “blanket” over object what you want to “hide” in thermal imaginer… No matter is it a person, fixed gun position or person.
Then there is reflecting and heat dispersing nets/blankets and in simplest way to explain is, they keep heat inside and outside of it “cold”.
There is a little example photo.

And what we also see in this photo that blanket is square what is not natural looking, next step would be placing leaves etc etc to make it look more natural shape.
Is this not op ? You straight up cannot tell what tank it is
I mentioned real life use of thermal camouflage already. You may have missed it.
Example Leopard 2 Barracuda
here.
Yeah I know.
But you still somehow miss the point, that you can reduce tanks thermal imagine a lot by bush tactic what has seen in WT also.
Also what is fun, that in wt example leo A4 is damn bright on front, when actually it is quite dark on frontal view, excluding tracks…

So you would consider this realistic?
Why not just make them visible in sights of the people that use them, that could fix some of the abuse of that p2w mechanic.
People could still use them, but would have to place them in a somewhat realistic way or have to use 3rd person view instead.
You understand that the bushes are not effective for trapping heat, hence why comparing how bushes work compared to a blanket/poncho is stupid.
I already mentioned that blankets/ponchos are more effective for achieving this hence why they are actively being used.
Which is totally not the subject here. The ponchos etc. are demonstrating what it takes to provide actual thermal camo. Bushes and branches do nothing, therefore they are not effective and don’t need to be removed from the game.
The problem with this thermal fix for bushes is that this is not a universal fix for all tanks. Thus the dynamic bush strategy is more of a better fix. This is too complicated for Gaijin to think about so just have them implement physics we have on bushes on the map and update the method of putting bushes on tanks so its dynamic.
This has to be rage bait.

The bush is masking the engine in the picture xD
Add some more bushes and you could hide the whole thing.
But yet, the tank is clearly still visible…
I wasn’t talking about heat related visibility, I was talking about general visibility.
The game already blocks you from placing it over important components like sights (including thermals and NVD) and MGs, but when you manage to bypass that, nothing is preventing you from seeing trough them.
My suggestion is to make them appear in all sights, so that in case someone covers most of the tank with them (like in the several pictures already posted in this thread) they will only see this in the blocked sight:
And in case of MGs, just make it so that shooting trough the bush will make it fall off like it already does.
