Reload Rate decrease for all 105mm tank guns above 10.0

I think it is stupid that 120mm guns have a 6 second ace reload rate but 105mm guns have 6.7 seconds… Smaller guns should have better reload rates… given they both use case telescoped rounds and 105mm rounds are in fact lighter than their 120mm counterparts…

Also 120mm guns have an edge in post penetration damage already

Firstly, reload rate is a balancing factor in war thunder. It’s completely arbitrary except when gaijin wants it to be realistic.

Secondly, 120mm guns have a tendency to be in turrets with better crew ergonomics vs ones with 105mm guns. See Challenger 2 vs Centurion, Leopard 1 vs Leopard 2, etc.

The 120mm shell can achieve a maximum firing rate of 6s per round on the Sabra, while the 105mm shell takes up to 6.7s per round on TDD. Moreover, Sabra’s BR is 9.7 and TDD is 10.3. It has been proven that gaijin’s filling of loading rate data is arbitrary

120mm rounds are shorter than 105mm rounds.
Masses are about equal.

@MechaZelis
Didn’t know IRL crews were arbitrary.
All reloads in War Thunder are realistic.

Erm… maybe out of topic though,
I think a reload speed of 40mm Bofors is slightly faster than it should be, Maybe at a plausible level.

Aren’t they clip fed? You can just feed another clip in to get a sort of continuous RoF.

Yup, they are clip-fed.
If we feed the clip continuously, we might rapid-fire the autocannon until (hyperbole) the barrel melts because of overheating.

Just… I am a bit wondering because that feeding clip was done by bare hands.
I think newbie loaders need to take a bit longer to reload than now.

0.65sec per clip on 0lv newbie loader feels too fast to me.

Since gaijin uses them for balance wouldn’t some be unrealistic?

Only if they’re faster than real life.

Hard to say with anything that has no autoloader.
Who is to say that the fastest speed that has been measured for a tank with a manual loader is the fastest speed that can be achieved?

The fastest speed that can be achieved is only determined by how many fingers you’re comfortable with losing

ya but that is due to the gun breech size being huge on those tanks too… moreover leopard 1 l44 premium also has a faster reload rate while being in the same damn turret… leopard 2av has a big turret too
