Relikt Armor Buff

Thats not how Relikt works in game

substantional

Still gets almost lolpend into turret and driver port, often with lethal effect

Ruske graves shouldn’t be armored even against Bradleys

better

No reverse speed, no reload speed, armor only at the center of hull and cheeks. Really such a good tanks

I thought the same thing when they added the Pantsir-S1 to the game. Then I thought the same when they introduced the Kh-38MT and the BMPT. And now that they’re openly buffing the already powerful Relikt armor, I honestly don’t even know what to think anymore.

First you should learn to read what people write to you about armor piercing and only then pretending you can think

So in one screenshot you aimed at the tracks + ERA + side armor.
& the other one you removed the tracks + ERA & only aimed at side armor.

Yeah, of course it’ll be less when you don’t hit ERA or tracks.
Also you had consider camera angle in one without the other.

Except that now the engine is covered (which it seems to be T-90M (Arena-M) I suppose); armor effectiveness is different from armor raw values, it’s how much can it sustain. Regarding the modifier I’m not aware of how it will change, given that’s explosive reactive armor and not internal composite, it’s probably regarding the possibility of new penetrators for the game;

Live Server, M3A3 Bradley, APDS-FS belt

Which also so happens that Relikt is recieving a reduction in other areas:

But it’s a fact that I can’t deny, Gaijin should provide information about these major changes.

So they nerf relikt against top tier APFSDS despite them not being made against relikt. How ironic

Considering that there are no exact data on Relikt ERA armor anywhere. Officially, the characteristics of this armor are classified.

There are, at least the explosive type and construction of the system, how much it’s effective? Guesses based on image tests and comparison to earlier generations. That’s a problem with modern vehicles in War Thunder and why takes so long to be implemented to the game.

These are all just assumptions. Even the type of explosive used in Relikt ERA is classified. No official data has ever been published—only speculation. The same kind of speculation as claiming that the Abrams’ lower front plate has 900 mm of armor.

There are such calculations, and they are not unfounded.

Relikt wasn’t buffed.
The Side mounted ERA high angle was fixed a little, and it’s still performing worse than the front mounted ERA for the same angle.

Flat it’s the same.
& front ERA is entirely unchanged.

and ppl still claim no bias kek

There’s no NATO bias, it cant hurt brains

I see, thanks for the clarification!

I still wonder what are the sources to make some side ERA be able to withstand as much as it will now wothstand, though.

Is there even any source? Or just guesstimations? Because it would be hilarious if it were sourceless guesstimations while they actively refuse to touch SEPv3’s hull armor without absolutely solid official numbers.

what if there were no bias at all? what if decisions were made using the same criteria and factors? but i guess its too hard to ask for PutinsThunder

The side ERA will now withstand ~110mm at 60 degrees.
Not the ~204mm of the identical ERA arrangement on the front.
But also not the 60 - 90mm it was before.

I think they’re trying to figure out how much side mounted ERA is supposed to protect.
After all, seemingly all side external armor under-performs in-game.

& the only reason people are panicking over Relikt is cause people just ignored its side mounting was under-performing for years, and potentially still is.

It appears they know the full angled value, and are attempting to figure out the flat effectiveness, indeed.

This is what angers me; they KNOW that guesstimations are INEVITABLE when working with classified vehicles, and they are willing to guesstimate the armor of just about any tank… except for SEPv3, apparently. (And the Merkava Mk.4s?)

well that’s genuinely funny

It doesn’t make sense for heavy ERA to provide any effective thickness above its flyer plate thickness against auto cannons because they dont detonate against them…
