On the dev server, the Relikt ERA received a major buff. This was done without any announcement or explanation for such a significant improvement. At the same time, the developers continue to reject any evidence regarding the increased hull armor on the new Abrams.
Does the USSR really need such a substantial armor buff for its top-tier MBTs right now?
A few more buffs like that, and the side armor on Soviet MBTs equipped with Relikt will become stronger than the lower front plate on the Abrams.

Translation:
It’s funny that an American tank can be penetrated in 99% of its armor by the 2S38, which sits at BR 10.7.
At the same time, the HSTV-L at BR 12.0 is unable to penetrate the side of a T-90M.
That’s the kind of balance we’re dealing with.

The Maus tank is very slow.
What worries me here is that even some toptier darts are going to start to struggle now (not that they already were lol). The real issue with that are tanks just as the Type 90s and Leo2A4M who very frequently face these tanks while having vastly inferior darts, namely JM33 and KEW (this ERA buff alongside the already existent spall liner will probably just prevent any and all postpen damage from these darts).

And now let’s remember IFVs equipped with Bushmaster cannons, the Namer, and other infantry fighting vehicles armed with Spike missiles and a 30 mm Bushmaster. They have become completely useless against a T-90M equipped with Arena-M.
Arena-M will intercept the ATGMs, while the 30 mm Bushmaster autocannon won’t be able to penetrate an MBT protected by Relikt anywhere at all.

I also have no idea as to why you’re complaining about the side armor not being penetrated instantly by an autocannon, if it’s an autocannon, shoot twice to remove the ERA the first shot and penetrate on the next?

It’s fixing the side ERA angling that is currently heavily under-performing on live server.
The ERA itself isn’t changing, but the side mounted ERA angles.
It’s still ~54mm of protection flat as on live.
It’s just being fixed for when you hit the ERA angled it protects closer to how it should.
It’s not a buff, it’s a minor fix that doesn’t even impact MBT shots to the side armor.

It’s obvious you’re a player who has never played the HSTVL. I already gave an example above showing how the HSTVL penetrates the side, and how the 2S38 penetrates.
