I think that the most logical material this could be made out of would just be structural steel. But it would definetly add to the survivability of the tank.

They aren’t- they said repeatedly that they would be going to calculate and estimate their own values based on available information.
So I provide available information to help achieve more sensible values.
The premise that “we need to provide specific values” is false.

35% that improve hull armor to 600mm against KE is too strong so it no bueno.

Source? Because not only have their Devs and Community Managers REPEATEDLY stated that they still abide by their policy published in 2021, but even on THIS literal topic they talk both in the Original Post and comments that they are calculating based on the available information.
Let’s stop making things up or assuming them, please. Instead, let’s continue to simply abide by their very own official policies.

Never in my 400 years of living would I expect such a nuanced change to the Abrams like this needing a whole post. I’m not the best WT Abrams player but I don’t think this is going to have a massive impact on my gameplay.
In the past, I used to view the 35% figure as a pessimistic, bare minimum value…
As of now, I find even the 35% figure like an optimistic outcome, hahah.

I can not give you exact source per se, but I think it was like 1-2 years ago, they stopped accepting reports “Based on calculations” and started demanding values on paper, even when confronted that such values would be classified.
They do not accept PLAYER-made calculations, but they do accept sources (if they like them) to make their own calculations.
Basically, they do not want to be given conclusions; they want to be given materials to reach their own conclusion.

You are talking about vehicle that was added way back when we didnt even have supersonics, pylon addon which is a minor change (with proven capability btw.) and stuff which is effectively a drop-in upgrade, something that cant be said about whole armor retrofit in the Abrams.

Russian tanks can stop 500mm+ with a 214mm thick array but a half metre array can’t stop more than 550 obviously…
