i just kinda have 1 question here if the tor-m1 an already better AA than the adats can go all the way down to 11.0 why is the adats still 11.7 i just cant see a reason to have it that high up with the range it has, and dont say “well it can kill tanks” atgms are pretty much trash past 10.3 considering we have missiles at 9.7 with 1200mm of pen and still sucks.
Tor-M1 is no way better than ADATS, just by the fact that it can’t engage ground targets is a good argument of this BR difference, the missile is slow enough to be not reliable at short distances and due to the launching behavior.
Yes, you may argument the FlakRakRad from Germany can’t engage ground targets, but the general difference between both VT-1 and 9M331, VT-1 is also better.
Yeah, ADATS should be 11.0. 0 reason for it to be so high, especially the British one with no gun.
yet another mindless “but it can shoot at tanks argument” if the adats was rated as a td it would be 9.7 or lower and yes the tor missile is slightly slower by like 150ms ish but also has 2km more range and a better radar. noone is asking for the tor 2 go up in br anyway, its a simple ask to reduce the adats
Tbh, I think every single AA (Except Pantsir) above 9.3 could probably do with moving down 0.3 - 0.7. CAS has gotten so powerful this past year that all the high / top tier AA’s have been powercrept to shadows of their former selves.
The only reason they’re all so high is to maintain the illusion that one country hasn’t been given something astronomically better than everyone else’s junk, and to pretend like these things are actually capable of dealing with top tier CAS (which they’re not).
They do a similarly bizarre thing with tanks. No one in their right mind thinks a Chally / Ariete / Merk is as good as a 2A7, but there they all are at the same BR. All about the illusion of balance.
ADATS should be 11.0. Flarak should be 11.0. ITO’s should be 11.3. Pantsir should be 12.3. Top CAS should be up at 13.7/14.0 like they are in Air. It’d create a BR void where people have the choice of opting in or out of top tier CAS based on if they put it in their own lineup or not.
I believe at some point, there would be a new anti air for USA and allies, but the difference between Tor-M1 and ADATS is clear, specially with the USA variant, since the Canadian can’t engage ground targets easily.
It’s not.
ok so explain how it isnt a better AA than the Adats
none of them can engage ground targets easily, non tantem atgms on an unestablished tank are not a good from of anti tank weapon at that br, you dont see atats running around killing teams for that obvious reason
The TOR-M1 isn’t better than the ADATS, but I do think the ADATS should go lower in BR. The TOR doesn’t use IRST, but instead TV guidance, which is miserable. You also have a massive deadzone with it due to it’s cold launch. Also it leaves out a massive smoke trail where you can barely see anything, which already makes the sights on this thing even worse as it doesn’t even have Gen 1 thermals.
id agree that the adats has some advantages but i take those as tradeoffs for its bad radar and lack of range but which ones better is debatable, but i think we could both agree tho them being the same br wouldnt break the game in any way.
Adats is better at dealing with anything around the battlefield
Tor is better against fresh spawns and space climbers.
- ADATS can use passive lock with IRST + Ranging, Tor has optical lock with no information and relies too heavily on radar where everyone has RWR
- Tor missile is over-responsive, a few turns against it and the missile is flying everywhere in addition to a weird deadzone at close range because of vertical launch
- 9M331 has a huge smoke trail behind it alerting any other aircraft to your location, ADATS is far less obvious.
In my opinion, you could put the TOR at 4.0 and it will still struggle because it cannot react to short range attacks by aircraft. Even if the TOR is engaging aircraft from a far distance, because the missile produces smoke, it isn’t hard to dodge them or get out of their range. One thing the TOR does have over the ADATS is the ability to shoot down AGMs, Guided bombs (if launched farther than it’s minimal engagement distance). Having that ability is a must have in top tier but does that outweigh all the cons of this vehicle? No.
The TOR should be reduced even further, possibly to strella or 2S6’s BR because both vehicles are more capable than the TOR.
However this doesn’t mean that the ADATS should stay at it’s BR. It should be reduced to 11.3 or possibly 11.0. The biggest downside is the lack of a tracking radar. It cannot intercept guided munitions. It cannot reliably track aircraft through foliage, but most importantly, it cannot slave it’s optics to wherever the aircraft is.
TOR-M1 can’t deal with any target close to 2-3km, or stay at low alt, it’s radar looks good but will be impacted by chaff and missiles, the other reason is TOR-M1’s missiles are the slowest ones above 11.0.
Dawg, what? The Kornet is one of the best ATGM in the game XD
not really relevant but might throw the oto at 11.0 aswell
Thats quite a big fact. Pantsir truck, 2S6 Tunguska, ADATs etc are often killing ground targets. Or at least smash the barrel and tracks to make them helpless.
Air only SPAAs are just too onesided for a combined arms gamemode. Things like Ohsa, Ozelot, Stinger Humvee, Tor are almost a waste of slots. You can just sit there and wait for air targets to show up. I’m currently trying to spade the Ohsa, you probably don’t believe me how many matches there are where actually no air spawns happen. Or just one or two. And you have to sit there, doing nothing for minutes. Not fun, to waste a 15min match and nothing to shot, nothing to do.
you people keep bringing that up as if im asking for it to go back up im just using it as an example of what br the adats should be at
