Regarding Thailand's Ground Subtree

This update implements Thailand’s ground subtree in Japan, but most of it is copy-and-paste.The VADS was a good option to fill the gap for Japan’s missing 7.3AA, but the M60A3 TTS is absolutely terrible.Thailand had the M60A3 TIFCS, which was an upgraded FCS variant, yet what was added was merely the TTS, which had only its nationality changed from Taiwan to Thailand.Even when implementing TTS, there should have been the option to implement a unique M60 equipped with wooden armor.Furthermore, the implementation of the M48A5PI and M60A1 RISE(P) to fill the gap in vehicles from 8.3 to 8.7 has been postponed.New vehicles like the Oplot and Stingray are particularly interesting, but everything else is absolutely terrible.

What did you expect lmao. Gaijin already treats Japan quite good tho.

I shall agree that Thai subtree is up-to-date the most maltreated one given how much vehicles arrive this patch (only 4, 2 of which are complete C&P). Lol, devs can actually be proud of themselves because it is the first time since RSA subtree we get one that has at least 50% uniqueness (ofc not taking into account the fact that Stingray was blatantly added to the US this patch, even though they could have waited for next patch, and the fact that we get 4 vehicles in total instead of 6-7).

I don’t think M163 is a bad addition given JP lacks AAs from 5.3 up to 8.3, so having some 7.3 for the lineup is more than nice.

M60A3 TTS was done dirty tho. I agree it could have been something like M48A5PI for 8.7/9.0 (depends on FCS and round), or at least M60A3 w/ WERA for shits and giggles.

There should have been VT-4 and VN-1, but both are very likely postponed, even though VT-4 would actually be quite enjoyable concearning Thai subtree only takes rank 6 and 8, leaving rank 7 with nothing.

I believe earlier ranks are reserved for future additions, but the fact that even higher ranks are filled so poorly is disappointing to say the least. The only reasons Thai sub-tree carries its intro are Oplot and Stingray, but the latter is literally given to the US in the same patch (hello German mains wanting their KF-41 for the last 1 year)

Hope you can remember what you saying right now when the VT-4 or others China tank add in a wrong variant…

Don’t want to be that guy, but shall I remind you how Chinese reacted when they found out the VT-5s dev state and how others reacted to T-84 having legit the most important feature of armor being unfinished? So yeah, dev is quite bad atm, but what comes after dev server is different story.

Don’t try to swap the main issue here, just because Type 10 and T-84 is good doesn’t mean Gaijin can give a wrong variant of the m60.

well, looking on the bright side, at least this time the Thai subtree has some new vehicles – unlike the previous ones (like france, sweden or British), which were mostly just reskins of existing vehicles

jap is the major shareholder (just messing around XD)! Anyway, the top tier in Anton Star is basically just pure close-quarters CQB chaos, and a 4-second reload time? That’s definitely flexing its uniqueness, hhh.

Don’t said like only China got this problem, Type 10/TKX have their armour wrong since they in the game

I think the firepower is more than enough for it…

Absolutely not when you can be one-tapped by 9.7 round like 3BM42 from any range because it has a ton of holes in frontal armor layout and is penned anywhere (literally anywhere) in the turret by DM53/M829A2 et al. I don’t remember Chinese tanks to suffer from such issue.

Bro even if you got more armor you still have bad armor that would probably get penned

If turret armor was actually capable of stopping top tier rounds (IRL Type 10 stops its round with its turret front) there would be an option for a steady gameplay from hills and so on, instead you always pray noone shoots you first literally anywhere

I mean they can’t really put all the vehicles in at the same time, or they’d run out of vehicels to add…

I wish we would get more, but I also understand why they are withholding some.

  • It really needs some more substance.
    • The VT4 and VN-1C would’ve been great this update.
    • Granted, the BTR-3E1 infantry fighting vehicle and BTR-3RK tank destroyer would’ve been nice and an easy implementation since they share the same hull.
    • The TFICS M60A3 with its wooden add on armor would’ve been perfect and the M163 TVADS should’ve been added for uniqueness (on top of the base M163 for BR purposes) and an easy implementation since the there’s several models in-game of the M163.
    • Other options like the FV101, M901 ITV, and older additions should’ve been considered.
    • VL MICA would’ve been perfect because the Tan-Sam Kai struggles and is “glitchy” when engaging. It needs some TLC.

Overall the tree is too bare for it being a sub-tree. The Oplot and Stingray are amazing additions and really help out but there should’ve been a few more vehicles, it feels rushed. Air-side it looks good. I hope the next update we see a big uptick in implementations.

This thread is not for discussing which is inferior, Japan or China. It is for discussing the lineup of the Thai sub-tree.

Half is copy-paste, but I get what you mean.
TTS will still bolster my 9.3 lineup with a great tank, though I would like it to be correctly modeled.

Then of course the unique boys: T-84 Oplot and Stingray.
USA getting a copy-paste Stingray also helps my 9.3 lineup over there.

“3BM60, m/95/CL3143/M332, KE-W, and DTC-10 are terrible rounds. Utterly horrific.” Whaa whaa. Your post is implicating that anything short of DM53 or M829A2 is bad…
Poor armor? VT-4 on dev server has better armor than Leopard 2A4M, all Abrams, Leopard 2PL…; and is firing a 3BM60 equivalent round.
The reload just means you have to play more methodically.
