Regarding bots

On 31 July 2023 the news about bots went out official ( Bots in War Thunder: what they are and how we plan to get rid of them - News - War Thunder)
ending with “We will have a clearer understanding of the timeline once we release our next major update and Economy Roadmap updates that currently require most of our time”
On 19 September 2023 was the mayor update
And on 25 September 2023 the craft event
Its easier to create a crafting event than add a captcha ?? bots are still “allowed” to complete events ??
with no bots, points needed for the event would be lower ??

PS : time to get flagged by “community” :) cheers

Good news, you never did, no one ever spoke here. However anyone
Screenshot (3024)
got invites by randos? If they even are randoms cause that top username and the one below really feel too much of a bot type of name. Way too specific.

If you start getting invites from accounts you do not recognize and that looks odd, then take an extra look at your login history to make sure someone else isn’t using your account.
Make sure to have Two Factor Authentication turned on and take precautions to protect your account.

OH, I am already paranoid enough to keep all of that in check. So i already have all of them set up. This was just a first and very random especially since it was a first.

Good ^^

How do people manage to gain access to other people’s account? did someone in the company leaks the id or password or something?

Assuming you dont have two factor turned on, they just need your email and password, for either your email or game.

Passwords can be easy to crack/phished depending on the person. This is why two factor is so important.

I have no idea about Gaijin specifically.

But in general people create accounts on websites they perhaps shouldn’t, so bad actors get a hold of their email and password and if that player doesn’t have 2FA activated then they can just log in and change the password and control the account (or just log in and play without changing anything).

Another possibility is if larger trusted websites gets hacked and all the users passwords are stolen then bad actors can use those to login to all the sites that user is registered to (since almost all people have only one password for everything or at most has slight variations of the same password).

A third possibility is players register for websites, “raffles” or “giveaways” for free golden eagles (that are fake and just steal your info). or alternatively click weird links sent to them in emails/chat/forums/etc and get their authentication token for that session stolen (which is enough to gain one time access and then change the password)

But i have not heard or seen anything about data being stolen or leaked from Gaijin.
