Regarding airports and SLM

can someone explain to me how this thing can shoot down bombs

Simple.

Choose munitions on IFF, detect munition then send the missile.

i meant why not how my bad

What if they added C-RAM and other AA systems to airfields that are suited for intercepting munitions & close flying air targets, as well as moving the airfields back a bit

That would be pretty cool

No worries.

Some people (especially who’s out for revenge) doesn’t understand how powerful and deadly IRIS-T is.

It uses IR missiles which you can’t detect the launch due to not gettin radar lock, it has insane range(better than Pantsir in terms of effective range)

It can intercept any type munitions or air vehicle (except Mi28NM due to how stupidly modeled LDRICM is).

I always said how strong CAS is and how it should be balanced by adding proper SPAA systems But I guess asking airfields to be moved to 20km from battlefield is too much for some people, anyway can’t wait to see their reaction when SEAD enters the chat.

Yeah after F-4’s start spamming AGM-78 at lower BR and later AGM-88 with F-4G if we get it, as well as late model HARM on hornets and F-16’s as well as F-15’s and Eurofighter, along with ALARM from Tornadoes, I don’t think they will be very happy

For those that think they can simply intercept the HARM, an initial volley of SDB or hopefully SDB II should make that out of the question

They can complain and cry all day all night.

I just understand that some people cannot be reasonable even if you told them they were right to complain, as soon as power switches hands they become the very thing they swore to destroy.

How poetic isn’t it?

We are just barely beginning to scratch the surface of propelled a2g weaponry for most nations, and they are already on SPAA from 2020’s

To be fair there’s a lot of longer range systems not ingame id like to see but there are also a bunch of missiles to match that

Well since ground players think this is balanced I would like to see their reaction when cruise missiles, HARM missiles and more sophisticated A2G munitions added :)

I think they’ll be more surprised at how far back the stronger a2g weapons go. AGM-45, 78, 53, 80, 122

Just spawn a tank bro.

I enjoy beaming USSR CAS out of the air. Its satisfying to intercept their munitions on top of that.

I can already hear their complain.

Why would I do that when I can sit back put some music on Spotify, make me some coffee and launch my point and click IRIS-T missiles towards enemy planes?

You guys acting like you’re the only one who has IRIS-T, well I got some bad news for ya :)

I really want to see AGM-122 personally, and more AH-1, Cobra’s need more love

Also AGM-83, 87, and 136

I enjoy protecting my team from annoying CAS mains. :^)

Personally I’m just doing for myself.

As a person who experienced how broken KH38MT’s by using them, killing Russian aircraft’s gives me more satisfaction than ruining other people’s enjoy with my EFT.

But this only goes for Russian, other nations A2G munitions doesn’t even come close perform like that.

I try my best to take out everything in the sky.

It sucks when my missile doesn’t intercept and just goes through it

I hate to be that guy but considering its range and the fact that it’s a bomb and therefore needs to be dropped up high means you would probably get swatted out of the sky before you can even drop them, assuming gaijin decides to add all types of modern SAMs

SLM is modern and very good in its range bracket, but it’s far from being a long range system.

When it comes to HARMs there’s also the question of LPI search radars on SAM sites, and the way the passive seeker in such missiles can interact with those. I will give you it’s currently not a mechanic implemented in game though

versions of HARM have MMW seeker and GPS guidance, the systems they are connected to are also pretty modern and should be able to deal with AESA radars

heh,

they’d just be intercepted anyway
