Rebalancing of the AB 205 A-1 helicopter in the Italian branch

I suggest giving this helicopter ATGMs, SIGNIFICANTLY lowering its combat rating, or giving it more rockets, due to its utter uselessness in combat. Its armament consists of 14 rockets (7 launchers), which, with their overpressure, are incapable of killing even an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), even if you have to manage to hit them, as well as a pair of 7.62-caliber machine guns that are only good for destroying trucks during a test drive. And of course, it attracts the attention of literally the entire enemy team as soon as you enter a combat zone, making even a quick swoop and kill someone with rockets incredibly difficult. And with this flying hunk, you need to rack up 150,000 research points for the next helicopter.

Did it carry ATGMs in italian service?

No

only option is to downtier this to the point where its so out of place its cartoonish. It would be like 5.7-6.3 if you made it “fair”

Again its why gaijin gave players the ability to skip heli grinding by using tanks.

That’s not the main reason, the main reason is helicopters straight up do not earn RP at any reasonable rate in any mode. At least that is my interpretation.

youre probably both correct lets be real

Thats because they dont want you to grind them with TT vehicles they want you to buy a premium and grind the tree in heli EC for hours on end. I gave up spading certain helicopters especially in EC like the HKP3C since 2km slow missiles cant get close to hit anything with the spaa up, rockets somewhat work but the gains are so weak i gave up spading most nations helicopters because they have been abandoned for the most part.

Nope, although it could get heavier launchers with 19 rockets each. Also there other early helicopters which carry SS.11 and can easily be added like AB.204B (we already have this one but with different weapons in the Swedish TT) and AB-47G/J which were experimentally fitted with missiles. And there are naval helicopters with AS.12 like AB.212ASW and AS.61 Sea King.

The AB 205 was used in that configuration as a troop support helicopter; it was never intended for an anti-tank role. The first helicopter designed for that purpose was the 109. It should simply be removed because it’s an incorrect choice and replaced with something else, or, without overcomplicating things—as was done for China—the tree should start at 8.7, with the first helicopter being the 109.

A109 was the first successful integration of AT weapons, yes, but mentioned by me AB-47 were tested with ATGMs before A109 and there is no reason not to implement it as well as AB204B and others.

About 205, it could be either hidden or put in folder with AB204B, it’s still usable in heli EC at least with support of some ATGM-equipped helicopter.

Yes, that’s an alternative, but I’ll go straight to the 109.

In any case, considering the rate of additions to Italy, I would prefer other things to be implemented.

In this chart, you can see the additions to Italy out of the total number of vehicles added (including Hungary and Romania) since the tree was implemented. If we remove the stats from the main tree (aircraft, tanks, and ships) and the additions from the Hungarian sub-tree (tanks and aircraft), the data are quite disheartening. It’s something that’s already well known, but every now and then a bit of statistics doesn’t hurt.

Yeah, I know 😔
Also count how many of them are unique additions…

The sad part is, it would’ve been enough to just throw in a tank and a plane here and there each time, and things would’ve been totally different. There were updates where we basically got nothing, especially in the Italian tech tree.
