I want an open discussion to see a good reason why is TU-4 at 8.0, because I have only found problems, there is no reason TU-4 been at 8.0 BR.
Low Speed: It can barely touch 400 km/h in straight line, diving 500 km/h
Big Target: Becomes easy to aim with any sort of weapons 'cause is so big.
Movement: It has the worst control maneuverability.
Some people said that it is 8.0 'cause it has better payload that any other bomber and it is like “What it matter if you get shut down before traveling a quarter of the map” maybe for ground battles is okay at 8.0 I do not know I do not play ground battles I only care about Air Battles. As the points detailed before TU-4 has nothing to do at 8.0 BR being against FOX-1s, FOX-2s.
Some people said “Climb” seems to they think TU-4 is at 3.0 BR where prop planes are terrible at climb rate, they seem to forget that at 8.0 you are facing the best 1st generation jets and some crappy 2nd generation jets with afterburner, I’ve climbed to 8,000 km and higher and I get shut down by a Vautour, MiG-15s, Mysteres, F-86s, etc. So climbing makes even a worst decision at that BR with that slow brick bomber. Tu-4 should be 6.7 or 7.0 BR.
Then you have to compete with other jet bombers Tu-14, IL-28, Vaotours, B-57, Canberras for the bases, since all rush to get’em as fast as they can and then: What a TU-4 got to do after all bases has been taken out?
Die or TK your friendly bombers to have something to kill to grind RP.
TU-4 should be at 6.7 or 7.0, 8.0 is way too much for a bomber like TU-4.
The problem with the Tu-4 is that it can’t be placed much lower, it has some insane defensive guns. From what I’ve heard, when it was released it was fighting props and obliterating everything
that was before low tier jets got missiles to be fair and bomber damage models use to be pretty tranky back then too it could go down to 7.0 or 7.3 and be pretty balanced
Sounds like a skill issue of the fighter pilots, the defensive guns are the same on the Be6 and that thing is fine at 5.0. Only thing it has is much better coverage
the guns are at 5.0 and they dont shred everything there, otherwise it would be pretty easy to have a 2.-3.ish k/d, which I dont see ppl have in a be6…
It comes from when large bomb loads could end matches very easily and the Tu-4 and B-29 use to end matches rather rapidly. (killing all bases and then bombing the AF) and before jets had their current pervalence
This mantra of more bombs = higher BR just causes all matter of issues at a lot of BRs
(like Lancaster vs B-17 in terms of defensive loadout should mean the B-17 is much higher than the Lancaster, instead they are at the same BR)
Only spots not covered are below and to the sides below the wings, so rolling around fixes most of the blind spots. And even one of the turrets is as lethal as some fighters weapons at the br
tu-4 has a shorter time of hitting the enemy bc the speed difference of an incoming prop at a be6 is mostly 100-200kmh and for an tu4 its mostly more than 300kph. The coverage on a tu4 is everywhere given, while the be6 has problems attcks from the belly and the upper gunner has its problems at certain areas which are covered, but need like 4seconds to adjust the guns… Thses problems are mostly fixed through adjusting your possition. good luck doing that in a tu4 where you cant easily show your deadliest side the enemy.
I mean i hunt B29s in the sea meteor as people actually play them. Ive never seen a TU-4 actually be played. its the BR range you see canberra jet bombers and G91s you would be a fool to even try
all I remember was bad rewards after playing the tu4. The bad thing about it is that activating a booster and getting sth out of it(you will be the last one reaching the base) is more br dependent than other planes…
